Then one day, you just don't want to fuck with the hassle of keeping a car nice.
I have a Suburban that my wet dog rides in. Models smoke in. Friends borrow. For some reason I don't get door dings even though I squeeze it in anywhere. I run it thru carwashes every few months. I pile stuff in the back. Life seems easier. |

I don't see why anyone would ever buy a car over $30k unless you were planning to be in it 8 hours a day. Cars are horrible ways to spend your money. Buy a house, condo, rental property, or something that will actually add value to your name.

Unless you have money to burn and can afford a dozen of them, a $150k car is a waste of money. I can afford a $150k car in a heartbeat but my commute to work is all of four mintues so I would utterly stupid driving it. I mean, I spend more time in the bathroom every morning than I do in my commute.

Given that most people on GFY don't actually earn enough to pay for gas I can understand someone's excitement at getting their first BMW after they put in the hard years and finally "make it"...
In fact i'd rather see a gfyer of several years work their way up and post their 30k BMW than someone we all know is already rich post a 150k car we already knew they could afford... who in hell said it was that much of a penis measuring competition that meant you had to be able to beat Marc to show off the fruits of your hard work? One of the best car pics i've seen is Labret's Passat... paid full in cash. |
