Amsterdam show - Who'd like a crash course in photography?

Just had this idea.

Nearly every website owner shoots a bit of content for themselves, but who'd be up for an afternoon session on the basic principles of how to shoot adult content?

Nothing too advanced, just some basic tips on lighting, camera usage, how to handle models etc.

If enough people are interested I'll ask a couple of the professional photographers attending if they'll do a class.

Obviously this wouldn't be part of the event, so we'd have to chip in to cover the costs.

Post if you're interested in doing this and if there's anything you'd like to see covered post it as well (if any photographers are up for a session, post too).

This would be for the Webmaster Access event in Amsterdam (Sept15th-18th).

Trust you two to be the first to respond.

Maybe one of you fine gentlemen would be willing to impart some of your knowledge in exchange for a chip buttie (that's a french fries sandwich to you JFK)???

You're missing the point. A lot of people shoot a couple of sets for themselves to have something different, but they still buy the majority of their content in (even Paul buys in content for his paysites).

I, for example, have a good eye for a picture - but I can't master the camera. Visually I can produce good shots, but technically they are often under or over exposed.

It was just an idea

I think that's a good idea. What speaks against sharing knowledge. I mean, you still have to shoot the stuff yourself. Increasing the quality of porn is good.

this may shock you somewhat: quality photography is difficult and expensive to shoot . . there now the dirty secret is out in the open for everybody to read. when webmasters are willing buy quality porn, the level of porn quality will increase . . not really any other way . .

as long as webmaster continue buy the low quality porn, very often posted and seen at this forum, the quality of porn will not increase.

when the surfer turns his monatary back on poorly shot, poorly composed and poorly edited images of fugly models and cheap product, then webmasters will be forced to buy quality AND then the quality of porn will increase. and not before . .

I agree with you about low quality porn Wanton, it seems everybody with a digital camera is selling content, but I never mentioned selling content.

I'm interested in improving my skills so that I can shoot something unique for my sites, the level of content I buy in will still remain the same.

If we follwed your logic (and Aaron's) there would be no conferences to start with, as nobody would be willing to share ideas.

Paul and JFK.

Just in case you thought my earlier reply to you was trying to suggest that your skills and experience were only worth a chip buttie... that's not the case. You're both top guys and that was a bit of humour.

Wasn't trying to belittle either of you (or your skills) in any way.

The better the product the more you sell.

thunder99 hit me up on ICQ.

If it's only a few we can do it as a round table discussion.

you've never bought any content form me that I'm aware of . . and not as much info as you might think is delivered at 'symposiums' . . some broad general knowledge but no real specifics from what I've heard . . like a photography books . . some important detals are changed or left out . . nobody gives up secrets that make $$$

Shows are worthless for "substance" anymore. It is really all about contacts and relatioships.

This is an awesome idea. Congrats to you for even bringing it up, even if it doesn't come to fruition.

I just read this.

So am I getting the chip buttie or not and who supplies the brown sauce?

I'll ICQ you on Monday (and yes, I'll bring a bottle of HP sauce).

Thank you for the nice comments, Cory.

Maybe it´s a good idea. I won´t shoot content myself, but it could improve how to judge pics. So why not.
