I need a batch editing program. - GoFuckYourself.com

I've been using Eyebatch Pro for about 5 years now. It's pretty simple but slow as hell. I recently changed over to ACDSee Pro but hit a stumbling block today.

EyeBatch does not utilize the Exif files and automatically rotate the images whereas ACDSee does. The problem is that ACDSee DOES NOT have a function that allows me to resize the images to the same size for both portrait and landscape images.

What I need is a program that will recognize and utilize the auto rotate feature of an exif file AND resize images to something like 1024x768 AND 768x1024 depending on which direction the pic is turned.

Ya dig?

ACDSee does it - just set the size to 1024 x 1024 and say "keep aspect ratio" or whatever that is called in english...

I've tried that. I also called their tech support and was told that they have had multiple complaints about this missing feature but that they have yet to implement it.

As for PhotoShop....Same problem as ACDSee so that won't work either.

Firing up ICQ now.

If I resize it by 63% then it comes close......Close enough actually.

What I am trying to do is 1280x853 per the clients 1280x? request. Using 63% produces 1290x860. I'm sure they can live with that.

I'll hit you up anyway just in case I am overlooking something here.

Having your tried doing batch processing with Adobe Bridge yet? I had it bundled as part of the Adobe Creative Suite, but only recently started using it. I'm pretty impressed so far, and since it is integrated with Photoshop it's pretty much a breeze to work with.

A nice feature is that you can have it running in the background while you continue to use Photoshop.

Just an FYI.....

What you walked me through works perfect when you are only resizing but when you are doing other process to the batch like adding a watermark and so forth, it does not work the same way.

if you want to do both at the same time i'd recommend www.thumbnailer.com - super fast, the resizing works the same way and you can add text and a pic watermark at the same time - even through subdirectories

I have used batchit ultra for years... old but simple and it works great, combined with JP gallery and I'm set. Im willing to learn new tricks though if someone wants to help a sec.
