hopefully they file in the UK also, spamhaus are a bunch of fanatics and block entire IP blocks blocking not only the spammer, but anyone else in the group of IP also.

MMmm.... The only problem is the complainants chose the wrong country to initiate an action against Spamhaus - the judgement is meaningless.

Tho sure is time Spamhaus got a kick up the ass - tho they would never be awarded $11mill in damages if they did get the jurisdiction right.

Me too. I was with a host a few years ago and my server got listed by them as a spammer server even though I have never sent an email. I contact the host and they tell me that someone using one of thier servers spamed and got listed and they listed a huge block of IPs including mine. I ended up having to move to a different host. It really was a pain in the ass.

The only thing I hate more then spammers is the fanatical anti spammers.

Would be nice to see someone bring them down. That company has too much power. Something that can have that much influence needs to be regulated.

If they really want to hurt Spamhaus, they shouldn't sue them.

They should sue anyone who uses Spamhaus's RBL (Realtime Black List).

If the adult/Internet marketing community really wanted to make a difference, they'd get together and fight back against these people.

We all know who has more money and at the end of the day, that's what matters.

Unenforceable judgement, no precedant set (default judgement, becuase the defendant never answered) and the defendant has no assets in the US.

It matters so little as to be pointless. At best, an arrogant bully tactic from a potentially spamalicious company.

They should go file in the UK and find out how fast they would lose.

If their 'intended goal' was such a noble one (to kill spam), more power to them. Unfortunately it did nothing to detour the big spammers because of the buy-out option, so fuck them up their asses with a rusty harpoon.

Agreed. I use their RBL daily and it works well. The mail I have spot checked was indeed spam. Since the government writes anti-spam laws, and then rarely enforces them, Spamhaus performs a useful service.

It not difficult to find a clueless judge these days. Let the many spammers on this board celebrate. This decision is meaningless and does not hurt Spamhaus at all.

Tis fairly meaningless sf - even forgetting the fine. Apart from their repuatation is shit anyway among those who know, - law enforcement elsewhere don't give one shit about a court judgement in the US for this stuff. SH never bothered to spend a dime defending the action - why should they?

Oh please, some of you are ignorant as hell. Spamhaus is the biggest joke to ever hit the internet. Their tactics are obnoxious and unethical. Nobody likes them, not even antis. It would be hilarious if they lose 11 mill. Although it won't happen, I wouldn't mind taking a bat to Steve Linford's skull.

sure, they would probably lose in the UK but if this company is following can-spam laws they have every right to send out mail and spamhaus is hurting their legit business.

This thread is just further proof that spammers are stupid and of course majority of GFYers are traditionally "SPAM Friendly".

Any ISP or individual can use ANY method they choose to block SPAM or whatever they consider to be SPAM. Following CAN-SPAM laws doesn't mean that the mail cannot be blocked.... Spamhaus is a service that individuals or isp'S may CHOOSE to use.

The Canadians seem to allow spamming the shit out of everyone. Does that mean I have to accept their crap? Hardly , besides, using RBL services like Spamhaus and Spamcop, some ISPs and individuals block individual countries... like China for example.

Spamhaus chose not to defend itself because it didn't have to. The U.S. court has no jurisdiction over them. The douchebags from e360 Insight are still being blocked and still spamming from what I can see.

Kind of amusing to see the usual suspects getting their panties in a wad.
