You never know...all it takes is the midnight passing of another port security bill and BOOM! Or maybe they'll piggy back a similar measure banning processing for porn on the passing of the next bill to fund the wars.

Anything is possible

Let me actually discourse something intelligent.

Online gambling. Comparable to porn some say. Porn makes too much money
for congress to outlaw it and let the money go offshore.

So if they outlaw internet gambling, 6 billion a year, why isnt porn next?

Well, this is what I think. Vegas, Indian Casinos, and countless other brick and mortar casinos are losing money because of internet gambling. These people have had lobbyists in washington for 80 years and online gambling takes money from their books, and washingtons books.

Porn? There isn't a porn city, nevada that is losing money from online porn. The only people losing money from online porn is larry flynt, playboy and penthouse.

IT is a NEW industry. Gambling is an OLD industry. Maybe online gaming and online porn can be compared. I'm not saying they cant.

BUT, in an optimistic viewpoint. They are probably banning ONLINE gambling because it takes away from casinos (congressmans donators). ONLINE porn, doesnt take away from any of washington senators or congressmans donators. There isnt a PORN CITY like las vegas.

The casinos are probably behind online gambling being banned. Who is gonna be behind banning online porn besides larry flynt?

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Unlike ONLINE GAMBLING, ONLINE PORN isnt taking away money from any age old establishment, lobbyist, or senators friends.

We are a new industry, taking money away from nobody. Online gambling is probably being targetted because theyre taking money from VEGAS. Who fucks with vegas?

Online porn, who are we taking money from besides playboy magazine?

I dunno. I just dont know if we can compare the two. Online gambling has a direct revenue draw from vegas. Online porn isn't directly taking revenue from any congressman's friends.

your the noob to be honest

80% chargebacks? hardly - when 50% of the people use things like Neteller (ACH based), Western Union, and other forms of cash payments...

The online casinos stepped on a lot of peoples shoes. The 8 billion they make isnt shit to REAL brick and mortar casinos who can, and have on october 4th crushed them essentially.

But our porn business, who's shoes are we stepping on, financially? Larry Flynt, and playboy.

I dont know if you can compare the industries. Porn online isn't making anyone OFFLINE lose money. Especially offline people with mob ties except
maybe all the washed up movie producers from boogie nights.

Congress is gonna go after us if we fuck up their donators income, but we are just making new income.

It comes down to money. If online porn is making someone powerful lose money than maybe we will be shutdown.

Online gambling DID make powerful people lose money, or atleast not get money they expect to retain. The vegas powerheads probably expect themselves to run INTERNET gaming as well as vegas.

But who is gonna stop us from internet porn? There isnt any big people who we're taking money from.

Are you on crack? First of all, most gambling transactions aren't done with credit cards. Second, why would the government care about chargeback rates? Third, if the chargebacks rate were even at 10%, merchant accounts would be shut down left and right.

If you have no clue what your talking about, just stick to posting "see sig" and "I'd hit it", please.

Any legal activity can be halted with this type of bill passage. The house allowed that bullshit online gaming verbage onto a bill that was guaranteed to be passed (port security).

http://www.gfy.com/fucking-around-and-business-discussion/662197-house-senate-ok-anti-obscenity-online-act.html

As for chargebacks at 80%.. that is just ridiculous (source?). Even if it was true, that wouldn't cause the government to put this bill into a homeland security bill.

If that is the case, why is this Nevada Congresswoman the only one who stood up to this bill the other day when it passed through?

https://youtube.com/watch?v=BX97GSppRT0

If online gambling is outlawed then NOBODY (U.S.) stands a chance to profit from it.. and if you don't think that the B&M casino's want a piece of the pie, you are crazy. Not only do they want a piece, but if they were allowed to actually invest their money into online gaming sites, they would be running shit like diahrea.

Porn on the net will never be removed. If regulated that far everyone would just offshore.

Sorta like online gaming sites

It's not that being removed is a possibility... it is the possibility of the government restricting access to the point that your freedom to view porn is infringed upon.

And the bill the gov. just pushed through puts restrictions on banks and credit card companies to prevent them from processing for the particular industry (gambling). Imagine what would happen if the same restrictions were put on porn.

No they aren't. Only the stupid ones that have no forthought. Movie studios made the same clian 25 years ago when they tried to get the VCR outlawed. Imagine how mnay studios would have gone belly-up by now if they had succeeded? As we all know just the opposite happened. Revenue for studios went WAY up.

Why an US casino wouldn't want to run a website where they could not only make money from peole playing online, they could use that website to get people to come to their casinos and hotels and it would be basically FREE advertising. I don't ever see me going to Vegas personally so hey they could actually make money from me if they had a website. Oh well their loss. Online gambling will in fact become legal here. It's going to take at least 20 years now and in that time the US gaming industry would have lost out on at least $125 BILLION in revenues. Idiots!

Most gambling sites arein the UK theya re no longer accepting traffic from America and not American can no longer be affiliates. Same thing would happen to porn on the net under similar regulation. No Americans could be affiliates and non-American affiliates would not be able to make money on US traffic. So going offshore doesn't mean squat.

So if it wasn't already existing casinos behind this, why did they ban gambling so quick and swiftly?

If casinos werent behind it wait for a ban on porn probably this year if it's that easy.

This country banned ALCOHOL for god sakes at one point. They will ban porn.

Is there anyway they banned online gambling because people not paying their credit card debt could become so wide spread?

So the banks don't get fucked out of money?

Only if the ISPs ban porn, but that would mean USA = China and I don't think that will happen.
