Fact: there are a lot of surfers on GFY. May as well take advantage of them to one's advantage.
I can't speak for anyone else's contests but in order to collect money from a PussyCash contest thread you need to be a webmaster registered to the program. In order to register at PussyCash you need to own a website and provide it's url. I don't see any harm in throwing a bone to the newbs and letting them have some fun and win a few bucks here and there. Some of today's newbs will become tomorrow's whales, hopefully they won't forget the fun and cash and payout bonuses that programs like Lars's, PussyCash etc undoad on them.

It is difficult to blame sponsors for working the market as it is and not as we might like it to be. Not only in terms of the amount of crap we have to wade through on the boards, but also what it means to our whole business environment.
A lot which goes on in this industry makes it more like a kiddies' playground than a business but the only way people will stop preying on others is when the prey themselves demand it. On many levels the world would be a better place when every time someone showed up with the word "mug me" on his forehead, there wasn't always someone ready with a baseball bat. Unfortunately and particularly when money is involved, that isn't the way it works. |

Not trying to cast any aspersions on Lars or AFF but I am just wondering if any of these contests that offer over 5k in prizes or cash are following laws regarding contest with respect for disclosures, eligibility, etc.
Seems to me that most of them don't and that makes me wary of them but no denying that they work for pulling in biz. Also, program owners generally prefer surfer traffic over webmaster traffic since they don't have to split the cash with them. IMO, if you complain about surfers in contest threads then you might as well say that surfers shouldn't be allowed to look at Hot Pic threads...
