People who are starting programs ...

instead of focusing on getting 1000 free hosted galleries
give some thought to people who do other forms of promotion other than tgp's

That's what most affiliates are asking for... but please elaborate. Free sites? Free hosted blogs? RSS feeds?

Typically TGPs can provide the most traffic and most exposure. That is always going to be the first strike for sponsor programs. Then they may branch out into free sites and such. Though I would love to see what kind of numbers the hosted free sites actually generate.

Very good point. There's many ways to generate traffic. It would be nice to get targeted promo materials made that fits particular affiliates' needs.

There was once a day when TGP was considered "crap traffic". These days it's not thought of so poory and some programs get 70% of their affiliate traffic from it.

Excellent quality content (we'll scale it if we need to), and permission to watermark/DRM your content, without restriction.

I think mose sponsors will be willing to do that...

but i don't understand..... DRM/WATERMARKING without restrictions....ofcourse there are always restrictions in this regard.....but any sponsor wouldn't have problems with you watermarking their videos as long you use the watermarked content to promote only there sites

The problem is to figure out which sites work on a specific tgp.

The affiliate has the additional problem of the prices for paid spots. While the program owner gets the full share for a signup and rebills, an affiliate has to pay those prices with half of the income and the affiliate has to compete with his sponsor.

Further more, the affiliate has to find out sponsors and sites which will work, the sponsor should know it from his stats. But that´s the market.

I agree, there are profitable paid tgp spots, but some are simply a waste of time and money.
