Jimthefiends tech tip of the day: Never see another commercial again.
Who does this besides me?
Get a dvr cable box, one that automatically records everything on the current channel for a couple hours or whatnot. Tune to your program. When it starts, pause it for ten minutes and go rub one off. When you get back you will have a ten minute lag time which is enough to fast forward through all the commercials. |

I don't think I've seen a commercial in the last 2 years. dvr's are great...I don't have a lot free time, so I just dvr all the programs I want to see and set aside one evening to catch up on the shows I like.
I opted for a dvr with dvd burner and when I'm in a rush or have to travel, I'll burn some shows to a dvd and watch them on my laptop.

I used to do that all the time too... I just have normal cable where I live now thought.

Well depending on the fast foward speed you use. Mine has three options. I find that I need 12 minutes of pause for a thirty minute show and 24 minutes for an hour long show.
