Fmr. General Wesley Clark sets O'Reilly straight

lmao...I love how O'Reilly gets so frustrated when he's told the fact that he doesn't know everything. You'd think that maybe...just MAYBE Wesley Clark would have a bit of an idea about what's going on over in Iraq. Apparently, knowitall'reilly knows more than our own generals. Who knew?

I thought Wesley Clark was a retired General. Does he still get briefed each day?

I said "former" in the title.

Seeing as how Clark was a 4 star general and Supreme Allied Commander of NATO...I would think his foreign policy is a little more solid that blowhard O'Reilly. But that's just my opinion.

A little more info on Wesley Clark can be found here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wesley_Clark

I think I'll take his foreign policy over O'Reilly's any day of the week...but like I said...that's just me.

Oreilly is a commentator. He doesn't have a foreign policy, he just has opinions on such policies.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I heard Wesley Clark earned his 4th star by providing the tanks for the Waco event when those kids were burned alive. Wasn't Wesley fired from Nato?

He may not have a foreign policy, but he definitely has an agenda.

Keith Olbermann owns O'Reilly on a regular basis. Search on youtube, some of the clips are pretty funny. One time on O'Reilly's radio show, a caller literally just mentioned Olbermann's name and O'Reilly basically said that "Fox Security" was going to hunt him down, lmao. O'Reilly likes to pretend Olbermann doesn't exist, it cracks me up.

He was not directly involved with the assault at the Davidian compound as far as I know from what I have read although forces were called up from the base where he was?

You can read more about his medals and awards here. http://securingamerica.com/taxonomy/term/81

"One lingering question about General Clark's résumé is why his NATO tour came to an abrupt end in 2000. He was not fired by the White House, as some accounts have suggested. Rather, former officials of the Clinton administration say, his tour was cut short by Defense Secretary William S. Cohen and Gen. H. Hugh Shelton, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who were still smarting over their differences with the NATO commander."

I dunno man, this was more a shot at O'Reilly than a commendation of Clark. He's still one of the snakes up there on the hill, but I would trust his judgement over that of O'Reilly on what may or may not work in Iraq.

Only difference is, his talking points include possible actions that could help stop the ridiculous killing that is going on of American, Iraqi and British teenagers fighting a senseless war on a daily basis. This isn't a man enough approach for people like O'Reilly, it doesn't show who's got the bigger dick. The only resolution is elimination type deal. It's disgusting.

That is an opinion. Sounds like your agenda and Wesley's are similar. There was some "senseless killing" going on in bosnia when Wesley was in charge, right?

Kill Kill Kill, Bomb Bomb Bomb, Blood for dollars

vs.

Let's get all the differences out on the table and see if there is anything humane we can do to work them out and have everyone come away with a sense of tolerance for the other.

Sure...it may not do a goddamn thing, but it is worth trying. The current situation is just getting worse and worse with no end in sight. If they keep hitting your curve ball out of the park, it's time to change pitches or pitchers...one or the other.

Absolutely senseless. The U.S. plays world police while our own country is full of crime, poverty and death, then wonders why when we go occupy some other country, they get pissed off lmao.

I never claimed Clark was a saint, none of them are, Democraps or Repooplicans alike...but his approach is a better approach in my opinion than O'Reilly's...which brings us back to the topic of this thread.

Sure he does, lmao, noone's disregarding that. Hell, if Karl Rove had stroked his dick a little harder, he'd be backing Bush right now...they are ALL scumfucks. (As if I haven't said that enough times.)

That being said, he still made O'Reilly look like the warmonger, chest thumper that he is, and I enjoy seeing ANYONE get O'Reilly to throw a temper tantrum.

nobody really knows what is happening in iraq or what to do...everybody just has opinion but it kind of seems like there isn't a good solution to the problem just a less bad one..

Well, from everything I've been reading, they HAVE been trying that for quite some time now. It isn't exactly that simple. Not everyone can "just talk and work out differences".

Basically we have a bunch of gangs running around that all want power. Gangs that even their "big leaders" can't control anymore. How does one reason with a group of guys that finds it "ok" to kidnap and decapitate people? Frankly, to me its become quite clear that the only reason this wasn't happening before the invasion is because the dictatorship kept the madness under control. Kill someone? They'll slaughter your family. Problem solved. So people didn't kill.

I don't have an answer. I don't have huge amounts of information and an endless supply of aids. Yes, I want us out of there as soon as possible. Yes, I know a lot of people in that region are pissed off. But I also know that if we pull out tomorrow that those 40 deaths a day aren't going to drop, they're going to jump.

There are 3 main groups of people that need to realize for peace to begin, there needs to be compromise. That is the political process. Once compromise starts, life WILL get better.
