yes, on a single page dedicated soley to the use of that feed, then yes, it can work.....that is painfully obvious

it is common knowledge with those using rss that joinrightnow has some of the worst feeds in the biz, i can't count the amount of people that have icq'ed me saying "man, you said every single thing that I was thinking"

an rss feed in our industry should be content, and lots of it, not a picture or a line of text...if you want a pic or line of text, there are hundreds of hosted gallery export tools out there that can accomplish this VERY easily, there doesn't need to be a rss solution

I am on vacation right now, but when I get back and I am going to spend at least 2 hours in this thread tearing some feeds apart

I am almost out of sponsors that volunteered, so I would much rather have those than go out looking for new ones

just been testing feeds the last couple days on only TWO programs out of dozens made feeds that are worth a shit - and even then they're not too great. some of them are downright horrible.

a program that actually hired someone who knew what the fuck they are doing with blogs could easily corner this market.

Our previous version of the feed was more of a gallery type feed. We think this new format is quite a bit better and more useful.

Also, you can just replace the coupon=123456 to your affliate id and you'll get credit for any sales.

So if you are using the feedwordpress and you're updating your blog from rss feeds, you just have to subscribe with your aff id in the Rss link. No need to do anything else ;)

You need to subscribe to the feed with your 'coupon' from the http request (not the feed:// as listed above), so the php can generate the feed (rss/xml) with the specified coupon.

So just copy the link below and change the coupon part. Then subscribe to that resultant rss that generated from the http request. (to clarify: the php returns a rss/xml file that has your specific coupon)

One thing we have noticed is that sponsor feeds usually do not have any time or date variable in them. What this causes is duplicate feed URL's for the same sponsor site which wordpress will ignore as a duplicate post.

sponsors need to put some date/time variable in their Feed URL's. this will help maximize the ability to use their feeds in promotion of one or more sites.

Here is an example of what i am talking about.

An example of this is the Top Bucks RSS generator. While very flexible and easy to use, it does not put any specific date or time variables in the URL string of the feed, and if, for example, you generate a feed for their site His First Gay Sex, today, and post it in your blog, and then go back and generate a new feed for the same site tomorrow, wordpress sees the rss url as the same feed and the second one will not show up.

Here is an example.. (this is a feed for His First Gay Sex, using a 4 picture layout, black text, medium font)

http://rss.topbucks.com/?revid=xxxxx...feed=staticpic

(this is a feed for His First Gay Sex, using a 2 picture layout, blue text and large font)

http://rss.topbucks.com/?revid=xxxxx...feed=staticpic

You will notice that even though the feeds had different parameters, the URL's are the same. And the second and subsequent feeds for this sponsor and this website from the sponsor will not show up in wordpress because of the url being the same, no matter when the feed was generated or posted to the blog.

Please keep in mind I am in no way slighting Top Bucks as they are very responsive to affiliates needs and have created a great product..just using their feed as an example for this issue.

about feedwordpress. is it easy to manage multiple feeds from sponsors? what im using right now is rss2anywhere.. good and free but some added features would be good.. you can manage multiple sites and feeds in one admin. can you do it in feedwordpress or do you still have to install the plugin for each of your sites then update it every once in a while to each sites? looks like a lot of work..

After reviewing this great thread and finding some interesting sites for my rss updated erotica site I wonder if someone thought about ie. a Wordpress which is also supporting the 'enclosures' tag.

Enclosures are 'sometimes' used to put the image in. when ie. using feedwordpress (does not support enclosures) the images are not displayed making the feed unusable. Only when the image is used within the description tag it's usable.

Anyone busy with a plugin for support enclosures? Than some other feeds would be usable for me also

While very flexible and easy to use, it does not put any specific date or time variables in the URL string of the feed, and if, for example, you generate a feed for their site His First Gay Sex, today, and post it in your blog, and then go back and generate a new feed for the same site tomorrow, wordpress sees the rss url as the same feed and the second one will not show up. Here is an example.. (this is a feed for His First Gay Sex, using a 4 picture layout, black text, medium font) http://rss.topbucks.com/?revid=xxxxx...feed=staticpic (this is a feed for His First Gay Sex, using a 2 picture layout, blue text and large font) http://rss.topbucks.com/?revid=xxxxx...feed=staticpic You will notice that even though the feeds had different parameters, the URL's are the same. And the second and subsequent feeds for this sponsor and this website from the sponsor will not show up in wordpress because of the url being the same, no matter when the feed was generated or posted to the blog.
