1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning. Also apparently those homosexual animals have picked up some unnatural behavior.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing as a person and can sign a marriage contract.

1. I don't think homosexual males are more promiscuous by nature than heterosexual males. We just have more opportunities is all.

2. Gays don't spread aids as much as other segments of society. Blacks spread aids more than gays do. And no, not just in Africa, in the US as well.

Religion has absolutely nothing to do with the "legal" institution of marriage which provides over 1,500 federal protections to committed couples.

Well in the bible there is multiple wives, wedding of family members and well that is just from the "good guys".

I think what you are hinting at goes back to that awkward time in the past when the church was and or just ran the Government. Marriage then was done to align given kingdoms into peace and harmony. It was carried down though to the lower ranks of society and was seen more as a property arrangement. Dowries and the like were demanded and it increased the overall wealth and power of families. More often than not these marriages were not done with the consent of either the bride nor groom.

Great post, man. Good way to illustrate the absurdity of those who oppose gay marriage.

What gets me about the "gay is not natural" argument is that it is logically inconsistent and inaccurate. First of all, it is inaccurate because there's many many species of birds and mammals where same sex contact occurs in a decent % of the population. Second, it is logically inconsistent since if the argument is STRAIGHT = NATURAL (and thereby okay), then you'd have to argue that NATURAL ACTS = NATURAL (and thereby okay). The problem is INCEST, COPROPHAGY, and tons of other activities are NATURAL ACTS. So they're natural and hence "okay"? Notice the arbitrariness?

The average gay A.I.D.S. patient has had 1100 lifetime sexual partners. That's significant. It's alot more than just "more opportunities."

70% of A.I.D.S. patients in the US are gay/ bisexual.

Our society desperately needs to adopt gay marriage to give stability to the gay community.

Men typically have higher sex drive than most women. Men want quick hit it style sex. Now when both parties are that way the amount of sex goes way the hell up.

As for your AIDS stats. I find it highly objectionable. Considering that the largest AIDS growth sector is poor black women, followed closely by IV drug users. Neither of which many are gay and or bi-sexual.
There may be some down lo sex going on that attributes to the black women issue, though the vast majority of it comes from men in prison. Where oddly enough they do not issue condoms since well sex never happens in prison right? and they do not test people for AIDS when they leave. I would not count these people as bi-sexual either.
Other area of course is IV drug users. Again something fairly easy to fix if we could just get around to having needle exchange programs, but well that is socially unacceptable and all.

It is very akin to teaching only abstinence in schools and Government funded programs. Then on the flip side do everything in ones powers to outlaw abortions.
