BELMONT -- Hoping to pass what would be the nation's most far-reaching ban on smoking, the City Council asked its staff to draft an ordinance that would outlaw tobacco use everywhere except inside single family homes.

I can't see how they will be able to ban smoking in cars. What happens if you drive through while smoking and don't see a sign?

In most cities you have to be 20 feet away from a building entrance if you are smoking.

but they banned it at the beaches, amusment parks, outdoors in some cities already...way i see it is, it's a matter of choice, esp. when it comes to the outdoor thing..the people bitching dont give a shit about carbon monoxide or greenhouse but care if someone smokes! lol
