SANTIAGO, Chile (CNN) -- Former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet underwent surgery after suffering a heart attack early Sunday morning and was listed in critical but stable condition, Santiago Military Hospital officials said.

He was briefly my neighbor when he was held at Belmarsh prison which is about a mile from me.
When I heard this news this morning I can't say I was sorry for him. |

Yet another guy trained in oppression and terrorism tactics, - along with many of this military officers, - by the US and supplied with tools/weaponary by both the UK and US to pursue a course of something that was never any democracy - more a reign of terror and torture.
Meanwhile, a few world leaders had meals and sipped wine with him - they even consider him a friend today.
