Canon GL2 - Video Light

hey guys,

whats a pretty good sized wattage portable light, i can connect with the gl2 for purposes of just shooting content with video if its in a dimmer room...

Ive seen ones that are 200w-300w even. So many variations, anyone have some opinions?

Thanks.

i use a small battery powered light on my gl2, it fits in the multi adaptor. I think it is pretty small wattage..i use it as a "fill" light only. I use some scrim to diffuse it. it is made by canon and cost around $125.

You have to be very careful with on camera lights, as it tends to make that horrible flashlight look in your videos. If you are going this route, get a more powerful light, and get a strong diffuser kit to put over it... and even then, good luck avoiding the horrible look.

This is the best one I have: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...goryNavigation

It has a dimmer knob which is very handy. Drawback is you have to wear a battery belt.

I have 2 others I use for my Sony VX, a single bulb that runs off the camera battery and another dual bulb that runs off an additional camera battery.
