downside would be the admin interface is slow and kinda wierd, but i still like it

I've tried both and prefer WordPress. It's not that Drupal was necessarily bad, it just didn't give me a warm fuzzy.

I'd say take 'em both for a spin and see which one works better for you.

Have you checked out Joomla? I'm using it exclusively now, and if I need something Wordpress can do that it can't...there's an addon to run a complete Wordpress install from within Joomla. Just a suggestion. Check it out, I think you might like it. If you've got Fantastico on your server, it's a one click install just like the others.

One click, one million clicks, I don't fiddle around with that sort of stuff any more...

So, I'm looking for someone to explain the differences to me and get paid for installing/configuring the one we go with, as well as showing me how to work it all.

I heard that Drupal is able to handle more visitors.

One of my weblogs is being converted to Drupal right now. Just to see how the performance difference will be. But when it comes down to usability Wordpress wins.

Depends what you want to do with it - basically one is a blog that can also be used as a CMS, the other is a CMS that can be used as a blog.

Tried both as well as joomla, and for my purposes WP does it for me for sure. Plenty of useful plugins , plenty of skins to customise, and its easy to mod.

Check out JoomlaJunkie. They provide this service and can get you set up and running. They also do some great skins for the system.

If it will be a blog-like site, go with Wordpress. It's easier to work with, and easier to theme. There will be more people familiar with it. It will likely be friendlier for anyone adding content to use.

Drupal is also a great program and quite flexible but can be a little complicated in the beginning. If your installer doesn't get the taxonomy involved, you should probably find another one.

I use both. I use Drupal for a site that deals with varied membership levels and subscription features, because it has that flexibility that Wordpress didn't at the time.

Drupal has the ability to revert to a previous instance of a specific content page if that would be useful.

Drupal is probably better for a multi-author installation.

I love both. Both are great products. Whichever you decide, I think you'll be happy with it.

Avoid Joomla, Mambo, anythingNuke, etc..

I liked the idea of using a full CMS like joomla but wasn't it a server hog even worse than wordpress? I'd love to be able to pick and choose what menu items you show on each page, like you can do on joomla. Sucks WP doesn't let you do that. However what kind of traffic are you pushing on the joomla sites?

btw for the orginal question I'd probabnly pick wordpress simply because it's the most comon so it's easier to find stuff for.
