What would the flaws be with this TV?
I need to get a new TV in 07, and it will be a considerable upgrade for me. I don't know the size of the one I have, but it is small, and the bulky old fashioned kind of TV.
I know nothing about HDTV, Plasma, LCD, or any other such stuff. I do know that I like Phillips brand. And that I am concerned about what effects video games would have the screen. Maybe they wouldn't have any...I'm clueless. Anyhow, are there glaring problems with this TV that I would need to worry about? http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/6/6...37_pss_aen.pdf

Nice TV from what I can tell. Plasma TV so it the picture will get worse with time (say 10 years). Best way to tell if a TV is good or not is go check it out at the stores. See what the picture looks like. Buddy of mine has both Plasma and LCD and he swears by his LCD (much more than his Plasma).
From what I have read, there are only a handful of companies that make the actual display for all the different manufacturers of TVs so one is just as good as another. |

Oh yeah, video games, DVD or anything of the sort will have no affect on the screen - just the gas in the tubes in the screen fades with time so after 10 years, the picture will start to suck no matter what you do.

I will still stick with micro-displays. Effectively they are just skinny HD, rear projection TVs but they look nice, are relatively cheap and don't burn out like LCD and Plasma. Plus for gaming they don't have the latency problems that the other two do.
