Best way to setup 350 blogs?

I'm starting a new project next month that is in mainstream. I plan on setting up 350-400 blogs. I was wondering what you guys would recommend as far as setting them up the quickest and easiest? Any hosts out there that can get a current install of wordpress for each domain installed when I add I need the domain added? Same with SQL databases etc?

I already have a smaller project with gotwebhost doing this, and I like the diff class c options so I'm leaning towards that way also as they will all be linking with each other from the index pages.

Any domain registrars here and hosts want to talk and work out a deal? If I can save one step in this I'm all for listening

if you will buy cpanel for the server you can have accounts auto created for it using the api of the system.

It would be a lot of scripting work it would seem. I would just outsource it to some indians and they can do it manually.

a simple custom script would do that - have a list of all your domains, root access to your box and it'll install in what, 2 seconds...

yup, sure am...it is pretty amazing

LOL...the first time I used it I ended up having to delete about 60 blogs cause I didn't read the instructions and they all got fucked up, so start with 1-2 blogs just to get the hang of things

Autoblogger doesnt install blogs just posts to them, you need an installer to handle the actual installing of WP

and that is what the product I pasted above does

the only thing it does extra, is if you have RSStoBlog, it adds the project into the admin for you

so, you can mass install unlimited blogs, add them into rsstoblog and have them auto updating, all with the click of a button

The Autoblogger Pro Power Tools do it ... they import RSS2blog campaigns for people that want to upgrade from that software, have the ability to scale out WP and MU-WP installs, put them automatically into ABPSA, etc.

They don't have an interface right now that I'm comfortable "releasing," though. They're just a collection of scripts that I've needed myself ... I run them from the command line.

First, Bliggo, before any of the projects like this.

Thanks for the update Edge, I would love to use ABP if possible. Might still do it that way, just take another step of setting every blog up in the program.

Anyone looking for some grunt work? lol

We'll just write an importer. I have a CMS due for a client, then Bliggo, but I can probably work the importer in between the two. ICQ me specs on what you need, and I'll tailor it to you specifically.

Just out of curiosity, do you have any sort of autoblogger pro mass installer in the works? something that will mass install wordpress blogs and push their details into the ABP admin?

You're not going to get a auto installer that sets up everything. Even if you get something that will install all the wordpress installs, you are then going to have to go back and install and activate all the plug ins you will need like WP_cache and so on.

And there isn't going to be anything that mass sets up Auto blogger.. You are better off just mass installing the wp it's self then getting grunt labor to do the rest.

If I can get one mass installer, it saves me time and that is well worth it for me.

the mass installer I mentioned above installs and activates everything

all you do is drop the plugins and themes into the directories they need to be in the main program folders, and it installs unlimited blogs, rotates between all the themes you have set up, and activates ALL the plugins in the plugin directory

then once it does that it adds them into the rsstoblog interface and automatically starts posting to the blogs

here is the best features of the Blog Mass Installer

Create Wordpress blogs on your domain, no captchas, press execute and the software builds all of the blogs one at a time.

One Time installation creates unlimited blogs across domains

Randomize wordpress themes across your network. Add your own themes, delete themes

Installs and sets up wordpress with permalinks, active plugins, and deleted blog roll.

Flexible configurations ... allow you to create all wordpress blogs within one database or you can optionally create 1 or a few databases per blog batch. Using one database will save server resources rather than have 100 mysql databases on 1 domain

Add your own wordpress plugins to be uploaded and activated

Automatically removes first post ("Hello World!") in wordpress

Automatically removes blogroll links from wordpress

Automatically configures permalinks in wordpress

I use blog organizer and right now I have about 30 blogs and I'm planning on having at least 100 by the end of the year

what I basically do is log in and manage all the blogs form one place - post, edit posts, add/remove feeds, add links, and so on...

absolutely brilliant and very easy to use !!!!

I have talked with a LOT of people that have both products, and everyone pretty much agrees

porn - autoblogger pro
mainstream - rsstoblog

Yea I have a copy of BO as well but had some issues setting up templates. I need to play around with it and get some templates working. The only draw back I saw with BO is it didn't make a seprate page for each post. So WP has an advantage over BO as far as getting SE traffic.

The products we release are based on A) what users ask for, and B) what we need. They "make sense" because of this. Autoblogger Pro was *created* because there was nothing that did everything it was capable of, and didn't suck donkey dick.

I started about 10 blogs at the same time (sometime last year) - 2 of them on Wordpress and the rest using blog organizer - and they get more or less the same amount of SE traffic so I don't think that every post on separate page makes much of a difference

as for the templates - you could be right there since I only modify the default template(s)

Guys if I am setting up WP , how many blogs can I setup per IP. I have read in few places where it says max 50 sites per IP when it comes to SE indexing.

Does it matter ?

you will read something different everywhere you look, fact is that is something you will just have to do some trial and error on and draw your own conclusions

I can tell you that I have well over 200 blogs on some of my ip's and am not experiencing any troubles being indexed

Autoblogger Pro isn't for installing blogs -- there are a ton of free tools for that -- so I'd say ANY product is vastly better suited to that task at the present time.

What ABPSA does is this:

There are a lot of variables that would determine how many different domains you would want to put on 1 IP, such as: the server specs, the theme of each individual blog, and cross linking hopes/intentions.

Hey Baddog, I'll try to msg you today, if not tomorrow hopefully to talk to you about server specs etc and what you think the best plan would be.
