the simple fact is that there is no widespread agreement on whats happening, why, what degree of change is natural, what isn't etc.... That, my friends, is the only truly intelligent post in this entire thread.

Duracel will be raking in the cash instead of the oil companies, haha.

I did watch that movie 2 weeks ago and spended my whole weekend on that subject then. I have ordered 10 copies for my employees and will send out more to my friends. Hopefully this way more people will understand our environmental problems and see that there is so much more in this world then only money.

2 things from the movie who hit me most were:
- the balance with on 1 side the gold bars and the other side our earth
- the ice bear who couldn't find ice to rest/life on anymore

I'm sure we humans can really still change everything, but have to act much and much faster than what we did now. And people have to use their brains. And certainly stop with fucking ! We already have much too much people on this planet!

What I love is the only people speak out against global warming are paid by oil companies and the righties dont see this as weird. Like its a attack to drive more fuel efficient cars and not be wasteful. If you dont want to think green, you want to end terrorism, get off oil.We dont use oil anymore, we wouldnt be involved in the middle easts problems.

Hmm I like your contrarian approach, but wouldn't that mean that whenever a bunch of scientists alarm us about anything in the future we can just dismiss it and say it's non-sense and there's a "natural cause"?

- Mass fish dying in continental rivers in the 70s
- Forests dying rapidly in early 80s due to "sour" rain from sulphuric emissions
- Smoking's influence on probability of death due to lung cancer
- ...

The list could go on and on. Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong. But it always started with a group of scientists that were in a minority in the beginning and decades later we largely accept reality as if public opinion never was any different. How can we just dismiss the remote chance of a danger lying ahead of us by our personal opinion or (cough cough) party affiliation?

Now I am not saying Al Gore and his minions are right. But what if he is?

To me its one thing to argue that we need to take better care of our natural resources such as fish, oil, forests, minerals and a totally different one regarding our effect on causing massive global warming at a rapid pace that would not be happening naturally if we didn't exist.

I truly believe we have almost nothing to do with the "global warming" that is being seen over the decades. ITs the ebbs and flows of this planet. Happened for the billions of years before us and will continue for millions more after us.

But I am all up for the conservation of our natural resources. Especially the conservation of our forrests and parks so that the whole world doesnt become one giant suburb.
