California looking to BAN incandescent light bulbs

A California lawmaker wants to ban the use of incandescent light bulbs in order to conserve energy and reduce greenhouse gases which are linked to global warming.

The "How Many Legislators Does it Take to Change a Light Bulb Act" would ban the use of incandescent light bulbs by 2012. Instead, compact fluorescent light bulbs (COLS) would become the alternative for California residents.

"California is the first state saying that we're going to phase them out," said Levite, the California assemblyman who first proposed the initiative.

This is a great idea. I am sure they will do it and it makes sense.

I don't use anything buy the florescent bulbs now.
Saves me a ton of money. Not only do they last longer (years!) they cost less to use.
