Can Anyone Suggest A Good 6+ Megapixel Camera?

My Canon just took a dump

Infamous E-18 error and I tried "manually" releasing the lens. Well that didn't work and I ended up busting the motor on the lens.

Anyways I need a new camera and would love to hear some suggestions. I was thinking of maybe moving away from Canon since these e-18 errors are happening alot. Maybe a Sony for a change?

Nikon D80 or D70! If you want something smaller but still very powerful camera then go with the Canon G7 I just got it the other day and it is kick-ass!

The rebel is doing a good job... or the 30D if you want to take more pictures per second, bigger LCD and couple more features.

Definitly go for a 22mm + cam...

oh I'm sorry guys I am not looking for an SLR. Just a camera I can throw in my pocket, take decent recreational photos while travelling and of friends/family.

I bought my Mother a Nikon Rebel XT for X-mas and she is in love with it
