It might have worked for some, really popular stars... but in general i think it doesn't work.
Once you have done hardcore, and it's on the web, and someone signs up to your new "softcore" site, and doesn't get hardcore, eventhough he/she has seen it on the web before, they will feel ripped off. you don't want them to feel ripped off.
