Pc power cord, very small gauge
I have 1 pc power cord that is much smaller than the others I have. I want to use it because it is so short (I hate having extra cord lying around) but the diameter of the cord is much smaller than a normal one. Does the gauge matter?
Thanks pc gurus

It should show the wire gauge (AWG) on the side.
A 500W power supply at full power is going to run a little over 4 amps. 22 gauge wire is good for 5 amps. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Even 24 gauge is good for 3.5. Being short helps too.
