I used to work in the food industry and youd be surprised at the amount of black widows in grapes!

Funny thing is out of all the spiders in the world the Daddy long legs has the most deadliest Venom.........

But he can pierce skin with his tiny teeth!

Those things are nasty, a friend's dog was bitten by one of those fuckers a month ago or so. Here's a pic he took with his cell phone (crappy quality)

I don't think it's a photochop either. If I recall the Brown Recluse uses a venom that causes localized damage to nerve tissue that interrupts the flow of blood to a given region. Over time it causes necrosis, and dependent on where you are bitten can be fatal.

I saw something on Discovery about this spiders. Por guy. I just hate spiders. I can touch snake, or any animal, but spider... No way. I am afraid of them. My friend used to catch big spiders. They were not wery dangerus for human. But watching them catching the fly he throw in their web is terrible. You don['t need horror movies at all. Nature is more scarry sometimes. Once we watched two spider fighting to death. Once was called Megadeth and the other Antrax. Antrax wins.
Damn, I fill them all over me now. Damn

Urban legend. A daddy long legs can bite you, but the venom will not kill you.

They tried it on Mythbusters, and Adam got bitten.

No, but we have the Hobo Spiders. Found one in the garage last summer that was bigger than a half dollar and was rearing up on its hind legs at me. Called for my wife to come check it out then <SQUISH>.

I always wear gloves when I am moving rocks, brush and so on.

As Phillip Anderson, a Missouri physician who specializes in brown recluse spider bites, explained in an article for the medical journal Missouri Medicine, "Almost all brown recluse spider bites heal nicely in two to three months without medical treatment at all. Also the long-term medical outcome is excellent without treatment." Furthermore, says Anderson, "We are not aware of any verifiable deaths caused by the bite of the North American brown recluse spider." (He noted that several deaths from such wounds "had been reported in medical journals, but none of the reports is convincing.") He also reported that out of "about 1,000 credible recluse spider bites," he was only aware of "about a dozen cases of impressive, sustained hemolysis."

Somebody bump the thread of the guy in here that posted pics of what a brown recluse spider bite did to his leg and I believe eventually killed him.
I was going to bump it the other day, but all the pics were hosted on his website which of course is no longer up. RIP Bjjb.
