Hey buddy,
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2006/pag.../epolls.0.html

Looks pretty close to me, more people making under $15,000/year are voting democrat but that's a tiny portion of the population. Most likely people collecting welfare on disability and such.

Given the margin of error, everything over 50k/year is split evenly, your argument is disproved.

If you really want to get down to the numbers, the largest portion of the population (22%) is making between 50 and 75 thousand per year, AND voting democrat.

$50-75,000 (22%) 50% democrat 48% republican

Doesn't sound like you're a fan of free speech or the first amendment. It is always funny that the ones who rattle their sabers the most over "fighting for freedom" are the ones that don't seem to like the principles of freedom.

What you are suggesting is akin to what Saddam used to do. That anyone who disagrees with the government be punished. I thought this was what we were "freeing the Iraqis" from? Perhaps finding a blog post you can copy and paste that isn't hypocritical would be best.

You people take it too far, for one we are in the midst of a war, dissenting opinions are fine but when you ACTIVELY aid and abet our enemies you BECOME an enemy of the state. I am not talking about peace rallies, anti-war conferences I am talking about propaganda over the internet, distributing anti-American movies, and helping the enemy spread anti-American propaganda around the world. There will come a time where your appeasement will hurt this country and its probably coming soon.
This isnt about "free speech" its about HATE SPEECH against your own people.

So you don't believe in free speech. That's just what I'm trying to get at. I'm not sure why you put yourself through the pains of living in a country that has it though. You'd probably enjoy Russia or China much more. They have very similar beliefs to you.

Please explain how I've actively aided and abetted the enemy. Is it my having an opinion? You do know that if people didn't have an opinion against the government, you'd be flying a British flag outside your house. We'd also have slaves, women wouldn't be allowed to vote, and Asians would be locked up in internment camps.

As for the pom-poms and flag waving, I don't really care. I'm not into the whole nationalistic pride. Sure it's a good tactic to rally sheep (just ask Nazi Germany, Stalin Soviet Union, and even present day Iran), but I pay for the government and I'll say whatever the fuck I want about it. They work for me, not some arbitrary entity you have concocted in your mind. The American public spoke in November, and will continue to speak.

Wont matter anyways, your potential nominees are weak and this country is going to have a hard time voting for a black man or a woman in the midst of World War 3.

We got around to the subject of war again and I said that, contrary to his attitude, I did not think that the common people are very thankful for leaders who bring them war and destruction.

"Why, of course, the people don't want war," Goering shrugged. "Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship."

"There is one difference," I pointed out. "In a democracy the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars."

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Hermann Goering, Nuremburg, 1946

The way of gaining national support through war is what the comparison is. There is no doubting that throughout history, creating a common enemy is the greatest tool for keeping support for a government.

I have no potential nominees, I belong to no party. If I were to vote today, I would vote for Guiliani. He is fiscally conservative, wants to cut my taxes, wants a flat tax, and wants to be more like Reagan (a real conservative). Not to mention that he isn't retarded on social issues like his competitors on that side. When it comes down to it, I will vote for the most fiscally conservative candidate who isn't a moron.

That is the most ironic thing about your posts. You bash liberals, yet support Bush. Bush is hardly a Republican, and while he'll wave his finger at a couple social issues to rally the religous nuts, his other stances are very liberal. He's soft on immigration, supports amnesty, spends a ton of money, welcomes strengthening international trade organizations, and won't raise things like the alternative minimum tax. So bash liberals all you want, but your support of Bush shows that you are one. Most real Libertarians and conservatives hate Bush.

But it shouldn't surprise me. Your views on free speech are no different than communists or socialists (the ones you claim others are). You can try and hide behind the ridiculous notion that me saying Bush is a moron somehow aids and abets the enemy. If that is the case, the entire world is aiding "the enemy".

And as for that election, it was one of the largest political victories in election history. While the Dems only got a small lead in the Senate, they were very far behind in both houses. If you had said they'd be able to win even the House back in 2005, people would have laughed at you. Picking up 30 seats in the house and 5 in the Senate on a Republican gerrymandered map is quite amazing.

I have no hate for the tactic, it's been used since the beginning of time. It's much easier to control people when you are fighting a common enemy. We had it during the cold war with Russia and communism. Apple did it with IBM. Republicans do it with Democrats (and vice versa).

No I support my commander in chief during war time. No where in any of my posts do I praise Bush for anything other than his stance against our enemies.

Again your hatred of Bush has blinded you to the fact that I said multiple times in this thread that things like saying "Bush is a moron" is NOT what I have a problem with. Its the constant barrage of anti-American pro-enemy rhetoric that I am countering in these threads. Rosie thinks Iran is the innocent one in the current crisis, I would gather that you feel the same way, to me that is an incredulous position coming from an American.

You are simply "hoping" that it is a message of some kind but it really isnt the Republicans had been in charge of Congress since 1994. Eventually people want to see if Democrats can walk the walk, maybe they are giving the Democrats a little shot at a majority for once. Yes it was a victory for Democrats but after being without power for 12 years it really isnt much to toot your horn about. Also keep in mind conservatives have owned the Presidency in recent years as well, by 2008 it will be 20 years out of the last 28 years this country has been led by a conservative. If that doesnt tell you something you are simply fooling yourself.

How did you come up with that from my post?

Muslim extremists are the worst offenders of creating a "common enemy" for the sake of rallying support. They hide behind religion and create an enemy (infidels and Westerners) that will threaten their way of life. If it wasn't for that, they'd probably be pretty normal people who would be trade partners with the US and support the US (since we do give them a lot of aid). But their leaders can't control their people (and pocket all the money for themselves) without making an enemy out of us or Israel.

I never said anything about Iran. Iran has never been innocent and never actually paid for taking American hostages back in the day. I think the British should give a firm deadline, and if not met, they should ensure that nothing enters or leaves that country. That all trade stops, that all money stops, and that country becomes isolated amongst itself.

Now please tell me what I've said that has "aided and abetted" the enemy. Did I give coordinates of our troops? Tell them how to get into the local nuclear power plant? Donated money to them? Please do tell about all this help I've given them. If thinking Bush is incompetent and that we should be fighting the war on terror in countries where terror is makes me an enemy, then so be it.

In order to route the terrorists we have to surround them, look at a map of Iran and then tell me if invading Iraq was the wrong thing to do.

This really doesn't say much. Since 1961 there have been 4 democrats and 5 republicans as president. The democrats have held the whie house for around 20years and repubs have had it for around 27 (or they will at the end of Bush's presidency.) So to say that the republican party is controlling the white house is inaccurate. they had a run recently, things go in cycles, its nothing new and nothing to brag about.

Also, you have to admit. If about 8,000 confused old people don't accidently vote for Buchanon instead of Gore in Florida, we probably don't have Bush in the white house.

I understand your frustration with people like them, they feel the same way about people like us I would imagine even tho you and I differ on some opinions. In the end debate is a healthy pursuit, even when either side breaks down and attacks based on semi-personal level. Ive been guilty of this myself, but I have firm studied beliefs and whether they are popular in certain arenas or not if someone attacks my beliefs I will fight back, as should everyone.

True but I suppose with your logic we could go back to the first President(which oddly enough wasnt George Washington) but I was just speaking of "modern times" ie after my teen years.

Oh we could argue all day about this but thats why we have the Supreme Court to determine the legal outcome of these things. Nothing is "fair" in politics and Democrats are just as shady when it comes to election day as Republicans are. Voting irregularities are common in any election.

I guess my point was that the presidency is a cyclical thing. the repubs have been on a good run in the last 20 years, just like the dems did during the 30's and 60's it's not that big of deal. In the end a lot of people vote for president based on the man, not his party.

The supreme court had nothing to do with old people confused by a ballot. I don't want to argue what is fair and what isn't or who is more shady than whom. The simple fact remains that there were a few counties in Florida that are made up primarily of retired democrat Jews from the New York area and they accidentally voted for Buchanan instead of Gore. Buchanon got 6,000 votes in one county. He himself said if he would have gotten 200 he would have been shocked and that people obviously misread the ballot and voted for him instead of Gore. He also said that the votes had been cast and can't be taken away from him and he is correct. People need to look more closely at the ballot before they cast their vote. the point I'm making is that if these old people don't make their mistakes, it's a different election. Elections come down to some strange things. In this case Bush won the state, and with it the presidency, on the pure luck of having his last name start with a B not because he beat the other guy. Even the most hardcore republican has to be willing to admit that.

How many old people in EVERY election make mistakes?

Or are you saying the Supreme Court justices ruled unfairly? Surely any "mistake" during that election faced a legal challenge which either was or wasnt taken up by the Supreme Court.

Sorry Bush wont that election as fairly as any President has won any election, again voting irregularities are COMMON and only when the votes tallied are close do people care.

Rosie gets so angry and handles disagreements with so little class everyone overlooks the fact that she is almost always right.

Rosie: "But interesting with the British sailors, there were 15 British sailors and Marines who apparently went into Iranian waters and they were seized by the Iranians. And I have one thing to say: Gulf of Tonkin, Google it. Okay"

Rosie: "Yes, but it?s very interesting too that, you know, these guys, they went into the water by mistake right at a time when British and American, you know, they're two, they?re pretty much our biggest ally and we're considering whether or not we should go into war with Iran."

#1 Rosie automatically assumes the British are at fault.
#2 She hints very strongly that this may be a false flag operation by the USA and UK.

Do you think she is right?

I understand that there are voting irregularities in any election. I'm just saying in this case it was clear how they effected the outcome of the election.

I never commented on the supreme court.

If you can't figure out a ballot, your vote should not be counted.

Don't you know that Ossama watches The View and uses that to inspire his troops? I know if I was a terrorist nothing would inspire me more to attack America than Rossie. Actually that republican whore's views are more likely to encourage Al Queda.

Splum a tool. He's scared of the big bad terrorist boogieman hidding under his bed. He be prefectly willing to give up all his freedoms for so called "protection". Freedom means taking risks. If you can't handle that then splum and others of his ilk need to move to N Korea or China. No terrorists ever attack them. Sorry the price of that "saftey" is too high for me.

Actually I pity those like splum that are actually scared. what sad pitiful lves they lead to always looking over their shoulders just waiting for the next 9-11. What even more ironic they think it's coming for the middle east. Last time I checked before the 9-11 the biggest terrorist attack in the US was the OK City bombing. Timothy McViegh, Eric Rudolph the Uni Bomber all white Americans all terrorists. The KKK is a terrorist orgnaization and has killed thousands of people over the years.

I've listened to Rush. Not lately but he seemed like he sometimes knew what he was talking about. O'Reilly is always wrong. You are a jokster or a fool. Hannity? Who the fuck is that guy? Only a hardcore cocksucking republican would throw some obscure fuck in there with Rush and dirty mouth like that.

You don't know who Hannity is? He's far from obscure. So I bash republicans, but because I mention Hannity I am a cocksucking republican? Lay off the meth.
