Any artists here with video game experience? I need some artwork.

I need artist(s) for two video game projects, one which is complete and needs a face lift and one that is in the works. I'm also advertising on various indie dev forums, but I know there are talented artists here, too. I would prefer artists with experience designing sprites for 2d games but that's not absolutely necessary.

Both games are 2D puzzle games, but the sprites can be designed and animated in 3d then exported as image strips. Examples of similar games: Linky - Linky. Check http://www.realarcade/ and http://www.bigfishgames.com/ for more screenshots to get an idea what I am looking for.

For project 1, I need:
- Various puzzle-style sprites consisting mostly of numbered tiles at 26x26. The size can be changed if you need a little more room to work in.
- One or more 800x600 backgrounds, possibly including borders for the edges of the window.
- A gameboard graphics of a size sufficient to hold 15x15 of the puzzle tiles.
- A few other sprites and objects. This game is complete and you can see it for yourself to get ideas.

For project 2, I need:
- 2d character sprites, somewhere in the neighborhood of ten total. The characters are small (somewhere around 40x40) and must look good at that size. Each character will need about 16 frames of animation, animations to be determined later.
- Several 800x600 backgrounds in various themes, mostly nature oriented (forest, mountain, etc).
- An overhead world map sized at about 1,000x1,000 and containing various nature elements (forests, mountains, bodies of water), paths and other small details.
- Various menu backgrounds, a main/intro screen graphics at 800x600 and decorative elements such as borders for the window edges, background elements to go behind scores, etc.

The time frame for the first project is open but for the second project, I will probably be needing you to start about two weeks from now, possibly a bit sooner or later. The work needs to be done in a reasonable length of time (3-4 weeks).

If you're interested, email me at [email protected] with some samples and at least some idea of what kind of rates you will charge for the type of work quoted above. I will also consider alternative payment schemes (percentage of the game, for example) if you're interested.

Funnily enough I left the games industry after doing an 8 year stint in it :P

I worked for THQ, EA, Cryo (yuk) and did some Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advanced, and PSOne for Konami.

I have experience with major console work as well as handheld systems including PSP and DS, where I worked on titles from FIFA Soccer (LOTS of versions) to Madden, to Need For Speed Carbon.

I have extensive 2D and 3D experience.

I understand sprites, limitations of systems, and low polygon modelling

I dropped the games industry to do illustration (which is what I do now ... as you can see from my sig)

That said, it's gonna have to be worth my while to come back to that shit ...

lol

I'll have a think about it and if I think I wanna do it, I will contact you.

That's some nice looking work on those reels. I don't know what figure would make it worth your while, but be gentle, these are just indie puzzle games Go ahead and email me if you feel like it. I'll be scoping out artists for at least the next week or so.

Thanks for the emails. I think I've gotten back everyone who contacted me. I'll be posting these projects on the indie boards today and I'm still looking for artists, so feel free to contact me.
