Designers: Anyone need a programmer?

I'm looking for a designer who needs programming done for your own websites or clients in exchange for design work for myself. Also, if you makes templates that you want to sell that's even better!

I think design sales pretty much go hand-n-hand with software sales

Then you'll probably need a designer after that to pimp out your bad ass new software. Unless you already have one, heh

Thanks J.

Come on guys! I know one of you could at least use a credit card processing system and a way to offer billing history to your clients. Not to mention your own database that stores transactions post-back details to automate everything and make it easy to deal with accounting.

I'm desssssssperate and it's a good offer. I'm college smart - passed database techniques with an A

Well since there are no designers interested...

Maybe someone can let me know of alternative places to try. I'm about to post on myspace maybe I'll find a local - I know there isn't anyone who I've found at the Cocoa or Palm Bay college campuses.

In fact, everyone going to school for programming and graphics seems to be double my age and out of work. *sigh*

it's one of those things that comes down to it's not what you know, but who you know. i'm a pretty mediocre programmer, never attended school and I get job/project offers all the time just because I know the right people heh.

Heh, well that's the problem. It's hard to meet people when you can't find or locate anyone who is interested. I've talked to one person face to face at the college who acted interested - I even brought the tangible products to class to give him an idea about what I'm doing. He asked me what it was.... that tells me he has no interested and didn't even check out the website.

Turns out he doesn't know anything besides a little C++.. clueless about web applications. I'm only attending college as a backup plan. I'm pretty far ahead of everyone in my classes - seems like no one does anything outside of class.

I'm not a shady person if that's what you getting after. The only company on GFY that I have worked for is Choker Media LLC.

It's not hard to find good designers :P You found me last night lol ... but seriously... the problem is that many designers can't afford the time to trade services. Design work can often take a LOT more time than coding in this biz ... Code can often be reused. I don't think I've ever re-used any art. So it's a tough one. But we're on ICQ now and if I need any coding, I'll hit you up for a chat

Hey Dave!

It was good talking with you last night I love your work and would kill to get something going, but I understand where you are coming from.

However, to be fair I'm not looking for any major design work at the most maybe some help with the software website, then a couple psd files which can be printed off as dvd box covers. Besides that I mean a lot of guys are already making template designs, etc so i would facilitating another place to sell. I can process all the major credit cards. I know a lot of designers have no system in place for doing that.

People like being able to see something that looks good and imagine themselves running something similar. However, it's hard to spark the imagination of buyers when a website looks subdued as we discussed last night.

I'm even willing to give a percent of my software sales to the designer who is willing to team up with me. You'll have complete access to the transactions database to ensure peace of mind.

I'm dead serious about this guys. I designed this stuff right here, but I know it could be 1000 times better. Especially my cheesy pac man style text logo.

Hey Todd,

Yes, about 100% of my work is PHP and MySQL. No shopping carts online that you can checkout, but just about every cc processor has some form of API that can be used to create and integrate custom shopping cart solutions into any website. For example, 2checkout.com on my website - I don't use a shopping cart system, but they have an API I could use to integrate one.

Since I'm not big enough my system doesn't have or need one, but it's 100% automated as far as cc processing is concerned. Clients have complete access to all billing history within the members area. Shopping cart would just be a matter of passing more than 1 item at a time to the checkout page.

Hi Levi,

Thanks for the comments.

Yeh I saw you use 2checkout, we have our own merchant accounts but always looking for someone who can customize php carts like oscommerce, zen, etc.

and yeh, Ajax is cool - we use it a bit on some sites.

thanks

Todd

Hey Justin,

I'm sitting in my XML class right now in Palm Bay. It's a 3 hours class soon as I am out and back at the house I'll be in touch and we can talk.

It's about a 40 minute drive back to Cocoa from Palm Bay. If you're not available by the time I get back home. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Just a heads up

Too anyone else - I'm usually invisible on AIM. Just shoot message if it doesn't look like I am online.

Thanks,
