Was in Peru (and Colombia on the way back) and tho there can be plenty leaf around, but there is no drugs problem near the level of "civilized" countries - it's definitely a stupid "civilized world disease".

Only reason to have some leaves was because of altitude in some areas - it's soo damned high up, there is a lack of oxygen and chewing something helps release... dunno what.. lung blood vessels or something (we had a doc with us and he described the effect) - and helped ya breath easier. The natives use it as a custom, not for drugs purposes - more health-related.

Basically... when it's available, nobody cares - it's just not part of the culture (excluding medicinal).

PS... BTW... These "natives" do shit we just could not do - amazing! *lol* They are very fit - obviously the lifestyle plays a role - no McDonalds :-)

you surf better not stoned? if so sweet, riding always comes first. i'm no surfer, but i find that when strap on my board baked, i charge 5 times harder. drop bigger drops, hit bigger jumps, and take way stupider lines than i ever would sober...

quitting for awhile is always good.
I usually stop smoking for a couple of weeks every year to clean out my system.
more than a couple of weeks and the pain comes back full force and I then have to go on zombie type pain prescription meds.
So I would rather smoke the weed to control the pain, etc, than do zombie type meds again.
also the is the bonus of getting extra high when one does smoke the first few joints after a long break from it.
