The Virginia State Police and FBI could not verify Wednesday afternoon, Seoul time, the whereabouts of Virginia Tech shooter Cho Seung-hui's parents, after rumor spread in Korea that they attempted suicide.
An official at the Richmond Federal Bureau of Investigation told The Korea Herald via telephone she could not answer to the question asking whether Cho's parents had been interrogated. She said the FBI media rep could answer the question later.

Los Angeles-based Radio Korea reported Wednesday morning that Cho's parents attempted suicide, according to neighbors.

Cho?s father reportedly slashed his wrist after having learned of his son's alleged killings at around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Seoul time.

Cho?s mother attempted to commit suicide by taking toxic drug, Radio Korea said. She was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but is listed in critical condition according to the report.

Radio Korea also reported on the widespread speculation that Cho?s parents severed all contacts with the neighbors after receiving the news, leading to a false rumor that they were visiting Korea at the time of the incident.

my children wouldn't do that kinda shit.. I make sure they are sociable. I spend a lot of time with them too so I'd already know if I lucked out and if they were capable of doing this kinda shit prolly send them to mental institution myself long before any of their teachers got a chance to do it so would be no shock there. And oh! I'd visit my child at the dorm every fucking weekend too and call them on phone every other day If the parents tried to commit suicide let them they have all the rights to it

Those parents who say that and whose kids actually do this kinda shit are parents who are talking out of their asses while boozing up. Kids don't go wacko all of a sudden.. there'd be many signs that kids are taking the wrong road. Maybe I'm wrong but most likely Cho's parents were the real reason why he went psycho. Maybe he was abused or even molested by his own parents (Gawd help them if they did). I think in this kinda situation parents should be the ones to get hung or atleast put to jail to make examples so other parents like them straighten up and either stop abusing/put themselves in rehab or help their kids in trouble. I am sorry but I have absolutely no sympathy for Cho or alike parents.

I don't think he was abused. Neither were the Columbine guys. In fact they had pretty nice lifestyles. The parents of the Columbine guys were guilty of not noticing the signs and doing something about it when they were CLEARLY there. No way my son has all that shit in his room and me not notice it. There are kids that have the shit beat out of them everyday and don't do this stuff. The one common theme is that they all claim they were bullied by their peers. So maybe they should be the ones punished. Now you could say if one is getting bullied constantly and his parents and school officials don't seem to be able or want to stop it then you can see why they feel the need to do this. Doesn't justify it, but you can see their so called "logic". So if anything at that point the adults involved are guilty of neglect.

As far as this guy, he was what, 23 and you want to jail or hang the parents? At which age is one responsible for his/her own actions?

Okay, again, not saying that they shouldn't feel bad, mad, and question themselves. In fact, I wasn't even directly talking about them but more that ANY person that just lost a child would face going into physical shock..it isn't something you can control. It happened to me when my husband died..your body just does it.

That'd be a normal circumtance this is not. Surely you loved and cared about your husband. Surely you used to talk to him, hold his hand thru thick and thin. Surely you knew what he was or not capable of doing if he would even think something negative you'd try to talk him out of it and if you couldn't you'd get him prfessional help. Cause if you did not you'd feel nothing but rather a feeling of good riddens and if you knew he was capable of mass killing and never stopped him you'd want to kill yourself and everyone would let you too So you shouldn't try to relate there's not even a remote similarity

Getting drunk and doing shit is far from being a pyscho and killing 32 innocent kids. If your kid's alcoholic and you put him to rehab atleast once atleast you tried, if your kid commits a crime your report to the cops you tried, if yours kids turning psycho you put him for counseling you tried.
