Uninstalling ICQ 6 (HELP)

I installed ICQ 6 and it suck on a good day, a slow piece of shit.

I uninstalled it and installed ICQ 5.1 again and now when I start 5.1 I get a message saying a newer version is out and I need to install ICQ 6.
Any way around this?

I've just checked its options and it seems a user isn't able to cancel checking for a newer version

If you have a firewall installed you can block a port an icq clients connects to when checking for the latest release.

I just had the same problem..

Go here http://oldversion.com/program.php?n=icq

and download 5.1. install it

On Startup it WILL prompt you to "Download a Newer Version" but it only upgrades you from 5.1 to 5.10.... not 6
