Well after a tough loss in game two the Wings sent a message last night that skill will always beat dirty hackey bush league style hockey in the end. I love the total meltdown in the second the goalie change, all the penalties, the major on Niedermeyer (he and pronger should have played their last hockey for the season) and then the third period opening with Tomas Holmstrom taking the first shift and assisting on the 5th goal. It was a good night to be a wing fan can't wait until the Wings vs. Ottawa Series

Ducks aren't done yet but yes, I think a Wings - Sens cup final would be the better series.

Looking forward to tonight's game. Sens could put fluffalo out of their misery

(and have a nice long rest-up before the cup series)

i have watched every sabres game this year. so i silently support them with my heart

despite the 1st goal, they are playing stronger offensivly, but still have problems with Otw in the defensive zone

This is the first game of this series where I can honestly say both teams really kicked ass and took names.

it surely was a better game for buffalo. i am not saying that just because they won. i still think Otw is a 2-d team. game after game it's the same team playing the same way. heck, it's winning... but still i disapprove.

Ottawa still has the Sabres number this year but its nice to at least push it to a game 5 and make Ottawa work a bit for it. To go out in a sweep would take away everything the Sabres did this year (Ie: Presidents cup, Top selling team merch. for the NHL, actual hockey excitement etc.).

Ottawa will go to the cup but for now Ottawa fans know where they can stick that broom stick.

I would love for Ottawa to win the cup, been a long time since a Canadian team has won it 93 was the last time. Anyways for the Sens to win they need their second and third line to produce some offense. Phillips, Redden and Volchenkov have to play the best defense of their careers and Emery has to be solid in net.

For the Ducks to win Pronger, Neidermayer and Beauchemin need to be outstanding not that the first 2 mentioned hasn't been. For the offense again second and third lines need to produce. Giguere is who got them this far and needs to play the series of his career to take home the cup.

Over all it will come to the play of Emery and Giguere for each team. These 2 are both outstanding goalies but both teams do have their snipers and both need to be on top of their games.

I give size and speed to the Ducks, but I think the Sens can play a better 2 way game.

I don't. Well, overall size maybe, but Ottawa is a fast team, they've proved that in these playoffs already. They can move and move that puck when they need to, and jam the other team up between the bluelines too. They are also a hard-hitting team that can take it to any team, "big" or otherwise.

Either team can win it, no question. Both have the firepower, both have the physical game down, it's going to come down to who wants it more.

And I think Ottawa wants it more.

A local classic rock radio DJ just had an on-air mini interview with a psychic. In that interview he asked her "Who is going to win the Stanley cup, Ottawa Senators or Anaheim Ducks?"

Anyways for the Sens to win they need their second and third line to produce some offense. Phillips, Redden and Volchenkov have to play the best defense of their careers and Emery has to be solid in net. For the Ducks to win Pronger, Neidermayer and Beauchemin need to be outstanding not that the first 2 mentioned hasn't been. For the offense again second and third lines need to produce. Giguere is who got them this far and needs to play the series of his career to take home the cup. Over all it will come to the play of Emery and Giguere for each team. These 2 are both outstanding goalies but both teams do have their snipers and both need to be on top of their games. I give size and speed to the Ducks, but I think the Sens can play a better 2 way game.
