Canon 20D error - "Err CF"
I keep getting an error when turning on my Canon 20D. "Err CF" keeps flashing.
I tried different Compact Flash cards and all the connections seem to look intact. Any suggestions? |

try re-formating your card?
try in the computer as well as the camera Did you check to see that you have the latest firmware update? may be a comaptability issue. Check Canon's site for ver. 1.0.5

I had the same problem with my Canon 30D. YOu should formatted teh CF card thru the cardreader and PC. Turn off teh camera then put the flash card in. Turn on the camera, than format the card thru the camera. Swich offf teh camera than turn it on. Should work fine!

I always reformatted the card in the camera that I plan to use it in. I've never had an issue like that.

Also, you can plug the card into your card reader, bring it up in your computer and defrag the card. I've heard of people doing that and it can help in some situations.

Ummmm - it's not me - it's this fucked up website.
It's painfully slow & timing out for me. I just upgraded to Roadrunner Extreme and this site is still slow as fuck! Out of all the bookmarks I have, this is the only one that drags like this....go figure! |

Nothing seems to be working. Can't even format the card from the camera or upgrade because it's not getting read at all and just shows err99 when trying. Anyways, is there any Canon or other program I can download so I can plug my camera directly to my laptop and save the images directly to the laptops hard drive?

I had this problem once. I contacted support, they told me to turn off the camera, remove the lense the mount it again. Believe it or not this resolved the problem. They did tell me if this did not fix it I would have to send the camera in and have it repaired.
Sounds crazy, but it worked, why, I havent a clue This sounds like the similar problem I had, but I could be mistaken...it has been quite a while since this happened
