Does 'badass' mean good or bad?
Just curious, if someone refers to something as 'Badass' is it a compliment or a derogatory remark ?

I'm European so I haven't a clue

Bad ass is either someone who thinks they are a tough guy, or some one who actually is, it has a few different meanings:

Tito Ortiz Ultimate fighting Champion, is a Bad Ass.(positive)

Unruly Children could also be referred to as "Bad Ass Kids" (negative)

"Bad" can mean good, as is, "Fresh", "Phat", "Nice", "Beautiful", "Hot", "Phenominal".

Or "Not Good"
