Here's a great solution to the illegal immigration problem

It would never happen though because it makes too much sense.

In a nutshell, anyone from a 3rd world country who wants to move to the U.S. can, BUT first they have to enlist in the Army for 4 years. (Of course we're talking about people with no criminal backgrounds or ties to terrorist organizations)

Once they've honorably served their 4 years they will be granted permanent residency status, and while serving they will receive all of the pay and benefits that come with military service.

If you're already here illegally, you can enlist or be deported, your choice.

People say it's too expensive to round up all the illegals and send them back, but with our new influx of draftees that can wash clothes, cook meals, etc etc we can fire Halliburton and use the money we save from that to pay the costs of finding and deporting the illegals.

This would solve the immigration problem AND the problem of our military being overextended and overburdened.

If you doubled the wage of all farm workers it would cost the average American $10 a YEAR more at the grocery store.

We've only had an all volunteer military since the 80's, it's a very new phenomenon. All armies throughout history have been filled with conscripts, debtors, criminals etc.

Even then it wouldn't cause prices at walmart to rise.
The whole wage vs prices thing is a myth, a myth created by people who don't want minimum wage increased and people who don't want to deal with labor unions.

Prices are set by the market, supply and demand and how much your competition is charging for comparable products are the main factors that determine price.
Increasing wages cuts into profit margins, it's only inflationary in extreme cases.

We also need to start fining companies very heavy, say 50,000 and if your company is caught a second time hiring illegal immigrants, you lose your company all assets and you will never be able to own/operate a business in this country again...take the jobs away and they will leave?.

Yes the ones who are in combat arms will indeed have weapons to use against the enemy when in battle. But do you really think one or more of them are going to "steal" the aircraft carrier and dock outside of Washington DC and threaten the government with it?
