Now let's say a disaster, natural or manmade occurs, the 'executive' in charge can do damn well anything he or she wants.

Notice I didn't say 'Bush' would. Why? Because if there's a disaster and he's incapable of fulfilling his duties, then Cheney or Nancy Pelosi then becomes the exec and THEY now have that power. Or worse ( if there is worse ) look at the chain of command of who would be president and ask yourself if you would want that person in charge with those powers.

This new directive along with the naval battle force just sent to the Persian Gulf, the sabre rattling and lack of cooperation of Iran regarding everything from hostage taking to nuclear experiments makes for a very, very, uneasy situation. With gas prices in the U.S. as high as $4.70 and climbing and with hurricane season just starting, we're walking a thin line to disaster. Just one military outbreak or destructive storm to our refinery system will make gasoline jump like crazy.

Bush has to exit the White House with a victory and doesn't have one. I expect Bin Laden or a video claiming Bin Laden was planning along with Saddam will surface before long. These people are psychotic. They'll attack Iran so that they can suspend the upcoming presidential election and go into prolonged warfare in the middle east.

If we get out of this presidency with our skins on it'll be a miracle.
