The Simpsons

so who else loves the simpsons?

i put on the season two dvd and pulled the tv up to the monitor. this kicks ass, moreso because the new episodes are shit.

one of my oldest bookmarks...
http://www.snpp.com/episodes.html

ahhh. memorable moments.

homer falling down the cliff, using burns' head as a bongo, trying to buy illegal fireworks, taking the fbi lie detector test, the oliver stone version of itchy and scratchy...

any favorite simpsons quotes?

Here are some good quotes from Homer:

"It's not easy to juggle a pregnant wife and a troubled child, but somehow I managed to fit in eight hours of TV a day."

"If you really want something in this life, you have to work for it - Now quiet, they're about to announce the lottery numbers!"

"Ah, beer, my one weakness. My achilles heel, if you will."

"They have the Internet on computers, now?"

"Getting out of jury duty is easy. The trick is to say you're prejudiced against all races."

"No matter how good you are at something, there's always about a million people better than you."

"Now, son, you don't want to drink beer. That's for daddies and kids with fake IDs."

I would agree, Simpsons rule... If it were the only show on TV, I would be okay. And some of the new episodes still surprise me from time to time, Matt hasn't lost his touch.

"Exxxxxxcellent!"

I think my all time favourite quote:

Mr. Burns: Well, if it's a crime to love one's country, then I'm guilty. And if it's a crime to steal a trillion dollars from our government and hand it over to communist Cuba, then I'm guilty of that too. And if it's a crime to bribe a jury, then so help me, I'll soon be guilty of that!"

at the end of this episode:

Simpsons rule. It's like a way of life. Wonder if they'll still be playing it when the next generation rolls around.

If not, we'll be watching the DVD's and our kids will be like what's so good about that stupid Simpsons show.

It amazes me how the same episode in different places are cut slightly differently.

Here in the UK that line would just be:

"Bart, with $10,000, we'd be millionaires!"

Don't ask me why??

And Sky (satellite channel owned by Murdoch) tend to cut more. I'm not sure if it's to fit in more ads, or for more politically correct reasons.

Strangely enough, the BBC shows the Simpsons earlier than Sky, and never cuts it.

How strange...

other people have said that, but I can't see it myself

I still love it ... and always make sure to see new episodes

and even if an episode's been repeated 10 times already -- I'll still watch it!

do you get the simps every day too?
