Kobe's ego is just out of control. Wanted Shaq gone so he could be "the man" now they are not winning without Shaq so Kobe wants out.
Here is what he said... Bryant told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher that he wants the Lakers to bring West back to the organization and give him full authority. If the Lakers don't want to do that, Bryant said he wants to be traded. Just play the game.

No matter what he does people bitch. I'm not saying hes right all the time but the guy is in a lose lose situation as far as fans are concerned. Say what you want but if you watch the games he is one of the few players that you will see give it his all every single night. That may not sound like much but playing hard for 82 games when your team is not very good is not an easy task.
