Because he said that 9/11 was the result of America's foreign policy.

Republicans don't like to hear the truth so they are bashing him.

Exactly. The Republicans live in a fantasy world where the middle east woke up one day, noticed the freedoms Americans have and decided to attack. They also believe they will continue to attack until the US isn't a free country anymore. If you don't say this sort of stuff in public, then you can't run as a Republican.

Ron Paul is a libertarian.

See this site for more info:

http://LibertarianBlog.com

In my opinion, Ron Paul hurt himself with those statements. 9/11 took years to setup, and was started way back under the Clinton administration.

It's almost like the modern Libertarian Party is what the Republican Party was before it sold its soul to the religious right. I think Ron Paul likes to rub that in their face and they don't like that.

Yeah but he's referring to foreign policy's ripple effects from decisions made during the cold war.

AFAIK, Clinton or his era had zilch to do with what he's referring to.

Ron Paul is the best candidate on both sides...I've been getting liberal friends of mine to register as Republicans so they can vote for him in the primaries..

The only truthful politician in my eyes.

Okay, now that's scary. Reason why is that 90% of my pals in the news services both radio/tv/web are supporting Ron Paul. I've been slow in studying up on him. He's the biggest talk of the newsroom and I expect to hear more from him. There's been threats from advertisers, fights in the newsroom from both political parties to stilfle Ron Paul. He must be saying stuff neither side wants the public to hear.

From what I've heard and read, he's fucking great. He's not treating the viewers like an audience of 6 year olds, so that may be the problem.

Exactly. Republicans spend like Democrats now and the only difference in the two is that Republicans are retarded on social issues. For as much fighting as there is between the two, both are VERY similar.

Those who commited the first terrorist attack in Bali said it was done because of the support of the US in the war on terror. Also for Australia's involvement in the liberation of East Timor.

The second attack is believed to be in regards to Indonesia's moderate government which many hardcore Muslims oppose.

You'd have to be a moron not to know that the attack in Bali specifically targetted westerners.

Quote:
The 2002 Bali bombing occurred on October 12, 2002 in the tourist district of Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali. The attack was the deadliest act of terrorism in the history of Indonesia, killing 202 people, 164 of whom were foreign nationals (including 88 Australians), and 38 Indonesian citizens. A further 209 were injured.

The attack involved the detonation of three bombs: a backpack-mounted device carried by a suicide bomber; a large car bomb, both of which were detonated in or near popular nightclubs in Kuta; and a third much smaller device detonated outside the United States consulate in Denpasar, causing only minor damage.

Okay, now I'm alarmed. What you're saying is what the majority of people I'm polling are saying.

I've never seen this before. An across platform support for a guy and I mean Dems and Repubs, black and white, rich and poor, people really like this guy. He's got more radio host support among my radio guys than anyone. Only person not supporting him is Limbaugh and we know why. Limbaugh is a boy whore for the neocons.

I'll be keeping an eye on Ron Paul. He sounds too good to be true. All I know is he sure pissed off Rudy Giuliani whom normally I would support. But Rudy made an ass of himself with his response to Paul. Rudy let Paul get under his skin and that's a bad sign. A leader shouldn't let his emotions burst forth but instead respond with cool.

McCain is scary. I don't think the man is a stable mind. He had promise but I think he's short on emoticons to post.

Obama's only grace is he's too inexperienced to be a certified political whore and his wife is a bad ass stand up lady. She's like Oprah Winfrey on steroids. We need a fire like that. Unfortunately Obama hasn't served in the military and that worries me.

I'd rather have a military man, a general in the white house. Generals seem to do well in office.

Ron Paul is what the Republicans used to be and they should be thanking him for reminding them of their roots. Small government, low taxes, non-intervention, and the novelty of following the constitution when most dems and reps, walk all over it.

He impressed me in the debate and people latch onto one aspect of what he said during it, but if we had followed a policy of not getting into foreign entanglements as a country we would have been better off in the long run.

I doubt Ron Paul will last too long on the national level, but he might just force the other candidates into looking carefully at their own platforms and tweaking them by seeing how receptive people are to the old school republican ideals.

Ron Paul is dangerous to the establishment because he's telling the truth. Look for some horrible smear campaign to try and discredit him.

I bet dollars to donuts they dredge up some old sexual tryst of his or invent one. Republicans like to ostracize people for having sex.

Now that kind of guy I could see voting for. I don't think Paul is going to go out of the limelight any time soon. Rosie O'Donnell also touted Paul as did several other of The View cast. His name is buzzing all over the danged place.

This is going to be very interesting!

WOW!!!

Something went wrong because just about everything he said focused on responsibility, accountability, and lots of sane conclusions and actions.

How dare he make sane declarations to the public.

I want insanity and chaos I say!

from wikipedia

Paul advocates a limited role for the federal government, low taxes, free markets, a non-interventionist foreign policy, and a return to monetary policies based on commodity-backed currency. He has earned the nickname "Dr. No" because he is a medical doctor who votes against the bills he believes violate the Constitution.[1] In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Paul is the "one exception to the Gang of 535" on Capitol Hill.[2] He has never voted to raise taxes or congressional pay, and refuses to participate in the congressional pension system.[3] He has consistently voted against the USA PATRIOT Act, the Military Commissions Act of 2006, and the Iraq War.

Amazing that a Republican from Texas can inspire such good buzz, LOL.

He's definitely what the country needs. Honestly what I'd love to see is a bi-partisan ticket of Ron Paul and Bill Richardson. If you carefully look at both, while there's differences in their platforms, there's enough common ground to make them an absolutely perfect ticket.

Granted I'm so jaded by the political machines of both parties that I just don't hold out much hope for America to break free of the stupidity that both parties put forward. Still, candidates like Ron Paul, like Bill Richardson, both give me a little hope that the seeds of change might take root.

Ronnie, we've been fucking the Middle Eastern nations up the ass since before the days of Lawrence of Arabia, and you're smart enough to know that without being reminded. Yes, they're fucking fundamentalist animals but YES, they have good reason to be pissed off and anti-western. Look into the history of Standard Oil.

Either way you look at it we have no business there. We're either intervening in the affairs of sovereign nations there and have been for years or we're losing American lives and billions of American dollars to 'liberate' a pack of animals. Take your pick. Neither option is good.

They don't even know what they are anymore. There is NO unifying theme in the current Republican Party except that the rest of the world is evil and must be bombed. And sex is bad.

That's it.

he has some good ideas but voting against he patriot act means he either hasn't read it, isn't privy to intelligence or is an idiot.

all of which disqualify him from getting my vote.

You forgot, in order to be bombed the people have to be 'brown'.

You just scared the bejeezus out of me!

I know big Bill Richardson and he's a stand up guy!!! I was wondering what his chances would be and now you mentioned a team up of him and Paul that would be like The Lone Ranger and Zorro teamed up!

I can't vote for candidates who have had disasters happen around them. They pull that shit in somehow and the last thing we need is more chaos.

If only our fellow Americans would get wise and push for the alternate candidates instead of the asskissing processed ones.

In my opinion, Ron Paul hurt himself with those statements. 9/11 took years to setup, and was started way back under the Clinton administration.
He claimed last week on Bill Maher's, "Real Time", that he is a true conservative.
