:mad MISSING PAYMENTS!! Sponsors who FORGET to pay Affilates Here and There....

Im doing my half-yearly Audit on all the programs I promote to make sure all checks have been recieved and logged in for all pay periods from all programs.

I promote some 50 or so programs, many have great reputaions and are well known.

Youd be suprised how many programs are missing payments here and there! Several straight pay periods paid, then one missing, and then several more paid. One out of every 12 or so payments, then one goes missing only to pay like clockwork for 12 more payperiods in a row. Most people would never notice.

Im sure they are honest mistakes. But its intresting to see how many checks "get lost in the mail" and never make it...

Very intresting.

I wonder how many webmasters never catch this. Im sure its pretty high. It takes extra effort to log every check by deposit date, issue date, pay period date, check # and amount into a log every week. And then to go over it to make sure all has been paid.

I do it, but im sure many others dont. And I bet they never get paid for these "missing checks"

Disturbing.

Get this.. I wont name names, but they are well known programs.. Shit you not...

In the half yearly audit I just completed Im missing $643.40 total.

Its not much in the big picture for a six month period. But its a lot if these "missing checks" go missing for a bunch of people.

Funny thing is, many of these programs are from people who I have established good relationships with over the years. People who's parties ive gone to and people whom have taken me out to appreciaton dinners..

Im not saying they are scammers, but for the avarage person they may not know the program owners by name or have good ties with the reps to get this taken care of as I do..

Then you see the GFY posts from the nobodys here accusing programs of not paying them.. I kinda feel for them.. But I say nothing. Knowing that the person doing the acusing may have a point. And may never get paid.

Yet I stay quitet becasue at one time the program owners or reps bought me a drink.

I noticed the same. I wish I were just behind $600... I'm behind a couple thousand and it's starting to get a bit irritating.

Anyhow people, check your emails. I sent out 9 emails to programs just now pointing out missing payments for pay periods in 2007..

Im sure Ill get paid. But once, just once I may be the person calling someone out saying they dont pay. LOL..

Knock on wood hasnt happened yet.. Ive always gotten paid... Even the shady dialer people back in the day paid me before closing up shop.

Even Like Whoa, I got out before they locked up. I always had good treatment even from the scammers..

Power of the Family I guess.

Like Whoa? Staying quiet when webmasters call out programs for ripping them off not paying because they bought you a drink at one time?

You are the disturbing one. Where I come from they call that a "sell out"

In four years Ive had only one program contact me to say that I had a payment missing and that I needed to login to select a payment option so that I could get paid. Now that's honesty.

I've had to contact a few to ask for payment... most pay on time

If I have any problem paying out someone like invalid epass id, wrong addy ect,,, I try to make atleast one attempt to contact the affiliate.
There is actually some affiliates who keep making sales period after period and ignore my msgs/emails trying to get their acct updated with proper payout info.

Since these are obviously small amounts you're talking about, is it possible the "missing" checks were actually pay periods where you didn't hit the minimum and that money was rolled into the next check?

Nope...

When this occurs the amount is then carried over to the next period..

You always have to look at each check and ref it to the pay period otherwise you could confuse minimum carryovers with non-payment.

There is one Big well known sponsor here (I wont name names either) that I have to email every 2 weeks without fail for over 2 years just to get my wire from them every 2 weeks, I haven't promoted them for years now, it's all recurring and only a coupla hundred every 2 weeks, but fuck it is so fucking annoying.

Excel is all you need to track payments although it is a tedious process it works if you stay up on it. One major company I promote told me that I had to wait 3 months before they could put a stop payment on the check and reissue. That hurts so we shall see how it turns out.

Yeah like me, you also have a lot of sponsors to keep track of.

What kind of program did you develop??

I use an excel spread sheat like the person who posted below you.

But it takes a lot of work..

Its easy work, but it takes time. I can spend several hours a week logging in checks.

Do you get the cheques by mail? is it frequently enough that it wouldn't have been lost in the mail?

i find it odd that companies would miss payments like this.. it just doesn't make sense. They'd actually have to make the payment in some form for the money not to be rolled over

are $1,200 a year drinks worth it? I think not.

I know someone in the pencil business who used to short ship 1 pencil per gross and in 14 years never got caught. The same guy would invoice all new customers even if they prepaid and he said 25% or more would end up double paying.

I never had a single bill ever get lost in the mail on the way to me other than when my mail box blew away in hurricane Wilma. I never believed the lost check - after all - how many called you to say that their check never cleared?
