Why are sites like Filefront, Rapidshare, Sendspace, etc still in business???

This shit is getting so out of hand, everywhere I look there is some free shit to download. And people wonder why ratios are so shitty...

I used to think that the "average" internet user didn't even know how to access certain forums to download free shit. But even all my friends in the bay area are telling me now that they all know where to find free movies, porn, and software online... like it's common knowledge or something.

Take this site Itsbx.com for example. If you go there you won't be able to view the forums without first uploading some files of your own. So I took a couple screenshots just to show you what it looks like.

There is a new full video added to their "p0rn" section like every other minute:

To make things worse, they even have "password" threads, and threads dedicated to entire porn companies. NaughtyAmerica is going to love this one:

This is just 1 message board/forum that is distributing all these free files out of thousands. What the hell can we do about this, and IS there anything that we even can do about it? Some people seem to think there is nothing that can be done and it will only get worse. I e-mailed FileFront and SendSpace today asking how they get away with this shit, and they both replied with the usual bullshit about "We do not allow copyrighted material and we have teams who work on removing the illegal files." lmao, well they obviously ain't doing a very good job...

True, but there only seems to be about 7 or 8 main ones that all these people are using...

FileFront is the worst, full DVD movies stay on there for weeks before getting removed...

Some of these sites do remove copyrighted material when it is brought to their attention, but the program owner has to locate it and send them the link first. I have been seriously considering starting a service to locate copyrighted material on file sharing sites and sending them the proper information to remove it, but I'm not sure what kind of demand it would have from program owners. Some of them just don't seem to care and use the "watermark it and the surfers will come" argument, but the reality is the surfer has tons of free content to jack off to without ever having to pay for it.

I don't think some programs understand how bad it is, and just exactly how much of their content is being distributed for free out there. If it is brought to their attention more and more then maybe something can eventually be done...

True, I know one forum in particular that has every Naughty America site ripped and linked to Rapidshare, and then puts up their new content as soon as it is released. I read somewhere on here where a program owner said the content being shared was old content, but that is nowhere near the case.

Old content? lol, the sites I have been monitoring seem to upload brand new episodes before they are even ready for webmasters to promote lol...

That is the reason I am sticking to mainly promoting tranny content now. For whatever reason it doesn't seem to be as readily available on the file sharing sites, although I may not be looking in the right place...

the people who keep repeating that these are young surfers who were never going to join a site anyway are fucking morons - it is getting out of hand and we are losing paying customers by the thousands to it and nobody is doing a thing about it. until somebody nails a Rapidshare or a big forum in court it's just going to get worse and worse until there's not much of an industry left.

you should try to use a whois request:
internic.net:
Itsbx.com

---> whois.networksolutions.com

Visit AboutUs.org for more information about ITSBX.COM AboutUs: ITSBX.COM

Registrant:
BeatBox Ent.
ATTN: ITSBX.COM
c/o Network Solutions
P.O. Box 447
Herndon, VA 20172-0447

Domain Name: ITSBX.COM

Administrative Contact :
BeatBox Ent.
[email protected] m
ATTN: ITSBX.COM
c/o Network Solutions
P.O. Box 447
Herndon, VA 20172-0447
Phone: 570-708-8780

so call the registrant to it's administrative email, to tell you what is the real name of an user. (it is rank 8000 in alexa so it worths the job)
If they refuse, sue in canada to get the information.
It is easy to prove that there is something illegal:
if they offer password minor can watch the content, and sex is bad ;)

you can prove as well that you are the owner of a content.

Also you can sue in france because in france minor can access to the content. Since the website it is possible to access the website in france.

Also you can mail to "vuiton", that their wallpaper is a copy of a vuiton design and on a warez website it is like conterfeit. Also it associate the trademark with porn. So this is of course bad for them, and believe me they sue.

That doesn't mean potential paying surfers aren't there also. They are. By the boatload. I don't think there's a difference in surfer type on these sites as compared to TGPs.

Actually, I would bet that anyone under 25 will soon be on these sites only.

This is a life or death problem. I can't believe so many people have their heads in the sand. Soon, the only way a content owner can hope to make money from their content is by doing ad share deals on Pornotube... that runs ads for dating sites and penis enlargement products.

lol, I sent an email to FileFront and here is their reply:

"We have full-time staff who do their level best to remove all copyrighted content from our site, but living in the real world means acknowledging that it is impossible to watch all people all of the time. For example, did you write a similar article to your federal government deriding their inability to completely prevent all incidents of murder? Of course not -- you, like all sane adults, recognize that no system is perfect. Ours is no different, and I must point out that we are not "ripping off" anyone; rather, the users who misuse our service are engaging in the activity of piracy, and in all cases it is without our consent or knowledge. However, I can assure you that our staff makes every effort to track down illegal file sharing on our site, and attempts to track down forums and other websites where illegal uploads are advertised. Our development team has produced many tools that we use on a daily basis for this task as well, and they continue to improve upon what we already have in addition to working on new technologies to be deployed at a later date. We also encourage our users to report illegal content via several methods, and in almost all cases will remove legitimately reported inappropriate content within 24 hours. If you have information regarding specific users, websites, or files that are violating our site rules, we're all ears. However, we are already well aware of the nature of internet piracy, and have been thanked hundreds of times over by the RIAA, IFPI, and many other members of the entertainment industry for our dedication to being part of the solution instead of part of the problem."

haha, they always repeat the same bullshit about how they work so hard to remove copyrighted files, but yet, they fucking suck at it. Files stay up for weeks for millions of people to download if they want...

Rapget is an awesome program in combination with your Rapidshare account. You just enter the urls in it and it downloads them all automatically!

Those forums can be a pain in the ass as you have to download all movies one by one.

Well, I have emailed a bunch of these free file-hosting sites, and all of their replies seem to be the same. They all believe that their companies are the best at weeding out the pirated material. Hmm... yea ok, sure. They all suck at removing the pirated material, but yet they all think they are great at it. So where do you go from there? lol........

No one seems to care anyways so fuck it... don't expect people to pay for your porn when they can easily get it for free. It will only get worse...
