Then it comes back to finding a way to stop your content from being ripped off. Anyone have a suggestion for that? Cause until someone locks the truck in front of your house you'll just keep going to that truck. Who gave the stuff to the guy on the truck anyways?

It was asked:

Would CBS or NBC attempt to tell Coca Cola or Chevrolet what they can or can not do?

And my answer was if Coca Cola was working to promote child porn NBC and CBS would drop them.

Tmobile does not offer adverts in them... it's a third party affiliate marketing program.

If coca cola was giving access to all of NBC's sports events on coke's site without NBC's consent and coke removed all of NBC's advertiser's ads... Do you think NBC would sell coke commericals ?

get your analogies a little more accurate then ask yourself what would they do. Maybe NBC would still sell them commercials, but I think a correct analogy makes one stop and think and not be 100% sure how they would handle it.

You're arguing with a guy who has no clue what he is talking about, he doesn't actually check to see if what he says is true, he just assumes that since he believes it true, it must be.

I am not even sure he actually knows what a torrent site is, he just keeps talking about CP. He is obsessed with CP actually.

Thats a kind of silly question isn't it ? You would have no problem seeing ibill as a sponsor or "legal" child nudity sites ?

But to answer your question simply.. Because he loses more money promoting them than he makes off the gfy ad banners . dayyum..

Because the word is out that playboy wont do anything if sponsors advertise on sites that display its stolen content.

Because his own affiliates cant promote his sites via these methods but i can signup to aff and promote aff using playboy content , and nobody seems to care .

We are getting to the meat of the potatoes here.. So why doesnt Tmobile tell them to stop? Shouldnt they patrol every site that that 3rd party advertises on and make sure its all legal?

Dude I know how they work, I know how to create torrent seeds, I know way more than you I assure you. Ive been using Torrents since they first became popular back in the TechTv days. Amazing people that think they "know it all" calling me a know it all....

I don't want to be a smartass and in fact hope that I'm wrong but I think you
would have a much bigger chance on a reply if you would have called Lens
to ask......or if Lens would be dodging webmaster calles email him about.

Even if he would want to reply I think the reply could be slighty different
depending on who's asking

Personally i wouldnt make any meeting i would just not do business with people who pay others that are distributing my stolen stuff.

If I have to guess which factors could have led to such decisions then I'd say

1: coz the profits outweigh the negatives....
2: competitive benefits
3: believing that the concept of doing this doesn't have to be as bad for
sites as everyone makes it believe......working together with these sites
keeps you off them as well or realizing that the fact that these sites can
leech of your content is simply because it's easy enough for them to do it.

Another damage these site do depends on what content you have.
Playboy stuff is one of kind and so wellknown that people would still
buy a membership just to belong to playboy community.

AFF for example has live stuff, that's not as easy to rip and not nearly
as much fun to watch it when it's not live.

If you just have hardcore pics/vids and nothing else to draw members to
your sites than just that content then the effect are far worse then sites
that have more than just vids/pics.

Last but not least Playboy is a public traded company. These companies
work completely different than non traded companies. What would result
in a loss for a regular company may result in a huge profit for a traded company.

There's more things than turnover and profit that result to the value of
their stock options.

Often companies sell whatever they sell at the cost of huge losses just to
get enough people buying their stuff which eventually would gain them profit.

When I worked for private.com at some point they thought about giving access
to all their sites and content for free....as the effect on their stock
would be much bigger than they could ever make by selling memberships.

that's what I'm guessing.......of course it's not impossible that I would be
totally wrong.....so basically my guess doesn't help you answer your question
even one bit.......but at least I cared enough to write all this shit down anyway

Yup seems I made again......drunk before midnight.....yay!

I'm in a very strict training regime for the Octoberfest gathering

lol you coulda boiled it down to one word..

PROFIT

the adult industry in general is declining for the first time ever while dating is still on the rise.. the only way i could see this being beneficial is if someone at playboy owns alot of aff

and even then i see no reason why they shouldnt allow their affiliates to promote them in the same places ..

Did you really have to also rub it in to me that:

A: you already knew all the shit that took me 10 minutes to write
B: you could write down exactly the same in just 3 lines

and even then i see no reason why they shouldnt allow their affiliates to promote them in the same places ..
Agree

Dating and cams will take over a lot more over the next few years.

And then something new will come. USB-Fleshlights (or Firewire for the hardcore) You can pay the camchick to controll the fleshlight or let your gay chatlover remotecontroll your buttplug.

I sure you don't expect me to believe that if Coca Cola was affiliated and funded CP/Underage materials that NBC and CBS would care less.

See this is where you are off track. AFF does not in any way fund cp or underage materials. Is that what you think ?

yeap, i know nothing. I've been doing this since 99 and have made more than 95% of the people here. Here comes sticky, starts doing adult in 2006, resells content, and speaks out of his ass on shit he knows nothing about, which is basically everything you comment on.

Sticky, what is your outside the box idea to fight torrent sites???

Your idea to " give away samples" isn't going to cut it. You can't give away samples and expect people to signup when the entire site is being given away for free on the same page as the sample. So tell us, since you make it sound so simple and you try t o make it sound like everyone is stupid for not having figured this out yet, what is the magical out the box idea you have to profit and " wide the wave" of torrent sites.

please share. instead of saying I know nothing why don't you share what you know.

bottom line is that torrent sites won't dissapear within the next few months....
so you better adapt to todays reality than cry about how unfair the reality is.

Offering Trial memberships should be reconsidered. Making it harder to rip
the content and yes that's possible...even while the leech has a paid membership. For example displaying your content dynamically which makes it
harder to simply rip it.....ripping flash video for example is possible but the
quality you end up with isn't the same as watching it stream.

Creating other reasons than just pics/vids why people would want to come
to your sites rather than just grabbing some pics/clips.

Interactive elements, member interaction, community environment are a few
examples that come to mind.

Or you could just sit back, cry and pray you can keep your head from going
under before the storm is over
