First, the 9/11 shit is just nutjob stuff so I'll skip over it.

The religous stuff was interesting, but they screwed up a lot of facts. The Horus/Set story is bullshit and had nothing to do with the Sun rising and setting. There were also a few other religous leaders that they stated had similar characteristics to Jesus but are simply not true. The documentary also plays on a lot of words such as the M in Mary which simply wouldn't have meant the same thing in ancient times. Still, it's interesting to hear about the astrology. It isn't news that Christianity was built heavily on Pagan traditions.

But the part about Jesus being fake is really a theory that has been disputed by almost all historians. While most agree that the stories of walking on water and stuff are sheer bullshit, almost every scholar believes he existed and had a following.

The 1st part is an interesting documentary and brings up some real points. But it also has so much misinformation that it's hard to take it as credible. If they had put more research behind it, it could have been a fantastic piece.

2nd and 3rd part are what i always thought is true, especially the 3rd part and it makes sense. I love the how the 3rd part starts, living in debts! So true, if they make a dollar they can sell it for a dollar or it won't be worth it, haha amazing point. Although making a dollar doesn't cost them a dollar which also makes you wonder how accurate his argument is. But heck, it is common sense that banks are always making money, war always generates more money and yeah, no war without a purpose and no war without public backing and many shit goes on without the public knowing. The 1st part i disagree with, being a middle-eastern and coming from a village where an actual miracle happened, where Jesus cursed a tree to live dead for ever and never bare fruits. It's still there! Village is called Yaroun, South Lebanon. Too many facts are not discussed deep enough to convince more then the Bible does. No one human being can write such a deep and complete good book where each one who reads it can find peace and comfort, and can understand it differently. Although i don't believe in the church and its systems and the people behind it directing it, but that too was said and written in the same bible they teach us. Listen to what they say but never do what they do! Awesome!

Yes there was proof that Jesus lived. Besides the littany Christian writers, there were a handful of non-Christian writers that referenced him in their works. I'm not sure why biblical scholars and religous historians "have to" do anything. Most aren't religous at all and in fact view the history of religion as just that, history.

The only thing disputed are the references to Jesus in ancient writings. Some say that they aren't that reliable, while others point to some omissions of his name in certain writings. Whatever your view is on the issue, I'm simply pointing out that your opinion on him not existing is in the extreme minority of those who dedicate their lives to the historical research of religions. They believe that Jesus was in fact a man who lived and had a following, but that he was also fairly insignifigant.

Well, in our defense, we have a lot more people fucking with our heads than people in other country's do. What we call a "culture" is basically just one huge mind fuck designed to manipulate us into being blood thirsty mass consumers with no independent thought, who care about nothing other than our own personal instant gratification. Our belief in religion isn't a sign of our species' stupidity. It's a by-product of our ability to trust people that are older and more experienced. Natural Selection has made us this way. It makes our kids trust their parents when they are told to look both ways before crossing a street, or in primitave times, not to walk alone in the area where coyotes are at night. Eliminating our species sense to inherently believe what they are taught about a higher power would also eliminate our sense to trust those who teach us how to live.

It's not a sign of weakness, just a by-product of what millions and millions of years of natural selection has created for us.

That doesn't hold up. Yes people believe in religion because parents tell us it's true. But if we were all intelligent, no one would believe it. No parents would tell their kids about their imaginary friend who's blood we drink, etc. If we weren't stupid and weak, there never would have been a need for it.

Humans have religion because we know that we are all going to die, and we are too weak to accept it. So, we basically convince ourselves that we're immortal through the idea of religion; whether it be heaven, re-incarnation, etc. It's because we're all cowards who can't accept death.

I really don't believe that anyone truly believes in religion. Anyone, even the pope. Everyone knows it's man-made bullshit. They just convinced themselves they believe it because they're too weak to face reality.

You are assuming intelligence is pure when we are born. That if we were raised in an Amish land with no communication with the outside world, we would automatically assume everything was bullshit if we were intelligent. Our brains are sponges, we soak in information. Intelligent people can process that information better and faster, but are still at the mercy of the information they are fed (many times at a young age).

Through millions of years of natural selection, we were built to be a sponge as a child and listen to what our parents tell us at a young age. If they tell us not to talk to strangers, we don't. Those who didn't soak in the information or trust their elders would die, and thus be weeded out of the process over time. Unfortunately religion got mixed into this, and MOST religous people were indoctrined at a very young age. Society has accepted religion as second nature, so many kids never question their beliefs as they grow up.

This is what many biologists believe, those who studied evolution and natural selection of human beings.

Ok I watched it, the whole thing, and the part that interested me the most was the two former IRS agents and how they said there is no law on the books that says we have to fill out a tax return, and how they quit after finding this out as well as quit paying income tax.

Crap... yet another "freedom of expression opinion movie" only possible because it can be disseminated over the net. If it took a year long period of research someone needs to go back to first year at film school.

There is nothing wrong with making people think, especially when they are dumbed down to a silly level and incapable of thinking. But.... that happens by presenting facts with no bias or deviancy on either side. Generally both of these elements are missing in junk - and this is no different.

Mixing 9/11 and ramblings about religon is very US - so bets on, there is another agenda from a "think tank", propaganda workshop or weirdo group trying desperately to have a conspiracy to play with. It's too off this planet to be considered elsewhere - laughable in parts but dumb idiots will absorb the content. The dumb are easily impressed and influenced.

Despite that - it's nicely put together in bits and all-image-and-music-designed for impact, but also uses well-worn propaganda and "influencing techniques" ("power music", images of 9/11 and voice-overs on religous matter, and "end of the world" dialogue blah). It's a fact that numerous religions are based on the same stories and events
of which a lot are rather symbolical instead of actual events. It's not something
that's recently been discovered the movie just mentiones and bunch of them
and presents them as facts instead of theories which of some hold truth and
others are just nothing more than theories.

The way they are presented makes it look very credible that all are facts
and therefor is misleading and contains a substantial amount of fiction.
It's quite smart coz the 1st part mainly is meant to build up credibility for
the next parts which holds very facts mixed with a good amount of conspiricy
theories.....

Overall it's a good movie as long as you don't take all the info as facts. You
should be aware and it's just another theory based like most others which
sure contains valid points and questions to the events as they happened.
