Whats the best way to move ALL files from one hard drive to another

Everytime I use windows' stupid copy/paste function, it comes across a file that it cant move for god knows what reason and the whole operation stops.

Is there a quick and easy way to simply move all files from one hard drive to another?

Sorry.. will explain...

the s switch copies all files and sub dirs - but not empty dirs
the e will capture all empty sub dirs and copy them

If you want xcopy to verify each file it copies add a /v switch to the command line.

Try Unlocker. It'll get rid of pretty much all of those annoying errors. Great for deleting those pesky files too.

Put in a FreeBSD/Linux stand-alone CD like Freesbie or Knoppix
dd if=olddrive of=newdrive

You know have an exact block for block copy, for free, without wasting money on bullshit Windows applications. You can even boot off that shit if the old drive was bootable.

I would use xcopy /e/c/h/y c: d:

or however your drives are. If they are both being seen in windows that is...
