Who would consider this bad business?
I bet it happens a lot already and i don't think it's really bad. Then again i can see some people not liking it.
Lets say sponsor x has CCbill set up and if a cc gets declined the surfer gets redirected to a dial or another non cc payment option. Obviously the referral wont get traffic but then again he wouldnt get the sale anyway as the surfers cc was rejected. Whats your opinion on this? |

As an affiliate, if you tried to use CCBill first and he got declined and then got accepted as a result of being redirected to an alternative payment option, I wouldn't be pissed.
But if you had CCBill and other billing on the same page and he could elect his billing option, I wouldn't like it and wouldn't promote your sites. |

I've debated this with myself a few times now. My solution was to add extra tours that I promote myself with the secondary processor. Affiliate pages only have the CCBill option.

If it fails with one CC processor, they should be trying another CC processor first before going to alternative billing.

I've considered NATS cascading, but I have too much going on right now to have to worry about accounting and cutting checks.

Yes and no. I noticed that a good % of cards dont get accepted on another system as well. I never tested the ratios but i have a feeling redirecting them to a non cc option might actually make you a few pennies more. I could be wrong though.

Does CCBill show declines on the Affiliate end? I have never gotten too deep into their stats. I love CCBill, but HATE their stats and administration area.

It's the sponsor responsability to monetize the traffic sent by affiliates, so if you don't appreciate the traffic received you'll probably lose your affiliates.
Don't take it personaly but in such conditions I wouldn't promote your program any more ![]() There's allot of programs on the market and such an issue really makes the difference. |

If you use a software like MPA than you can put in Nocredit card or Passwordbyphone options that are integrated and cut commissions also for no CC purchases.
I have even seen sites (in France) where it is possible to register as an affiliate directly by the alternative billing provider (like allopass.com comes to my mind) so you get commission from dialers directly from the provider. In this way you have two billers (cc and phone) work with one refferal code that is generated by your own interface (hope it makes sense). As my mate from Italy mentioned, there should be also a solution that can work with your premium phone number as an additional software to count the succesfull payments by ref. code, but I have no real experience with that. If I would be sending traffic to someone and not get credited for alternative payments (expecially for Euro or regionally attractive sites) I would feel it's not straight.

That's why I tend to only promote cascading affiliate programs (NATS, MPA, Custom softwate, etc)...They cascade all the options and you get paid on anything the surfer chooses to use.
