Most people simply can not afford to own "originals" from the famous artists like Picasso or Miro or Chagall. When the lithograph was done during the artists life, and is signed by him/her I see value in that (as does obviously the market). The piece has been touched by its creator. That said, I've never been a huge fan of "after" lithographs, but that's just my personal opinion (many of those fetch incredible prices as well, so obviously the markets opinion of those differs from mine). I'm fortunate to own several original Picasso pieces, and I treasure them as part of history and our cultural heritage. |
