Converting Brazilian traffic (english vs portugese sites)
Can anyone share some knowledge on how much brazilian traffic free join conversions would improve from an english version of a site compared to adding a portugese version?

Are you sure ENG is best? We have 0:9000 free join conversion on brazil typo-domain traffic and our US traffic free join converts 1:20, rest of world average is 1:35.

English is not the best way.
If you want to get involved in tweaking your sites then getting multi language translation is the way to go. It's a big world out there and people will always show preference to sites in their native language.

any experiences on how much having a local language version would improve conversions?
I mean, 0:9000 is real bad for a free joins site, no matter what language imho. compared to 1:30 for USA joins.... do brazilians really hate english language sites so much (mainstream site) |

They don't hate it, they just don't understand it. The penetration of english here is really small. Less then 10% take it in school and lot less then that speak it.

My bet is that the brazillian people don't have too much money to spend on porn. They are rather looking for free porn.
