RawAlex says we don't need it Vid. A lot of people are apparently happy that the board works faster for them. It almost always works fine for me though.

a basic search function is paramount to boards like this...can't something else be done to make GFY run faster? maybe fix the ads.gfy.com server?

The ads server isn't the issue. I long since blackholed the ad server so I don't have to look at all the flashy winky blinky ads. The issue is the main DB server, with 13 million posts and 650,000 threads, it is apparently having a very hard time.

I don't think that all those people out there with bots hitting the search every few seconds looking for stuff is helping.
