any dns junkies here?

I am trying to setup reverse dns on one of my machines, but have no idea why its not working.

i have a /26 ip block and i do have delegation on this machine

here is the zone data

zone "196/26.220.83.208.in-addr.arpa." {
type master;
file "zones/reverse.zone";
};

196 is the first ip, 198 is the first usable ip

197.220.83.208.in-addr.arpa name = gw-goatshit.scl01.appliedops.net.

198.220.83.208.in-addr.arpa name = ns1.goatshit.com.

199.196/26.220.83.208.in-addr.arpa name = goatshit.com.

What makes you think it's not working? If the delegation was done recently then it probably hadn't properly propagated.

Actually...

199.196/26.220.83.208.in-addr.arpa

I've never seen this syntax used for < /24 reverse delegation, but it's been years since I fooled around with it. Isn't a slash an invalid character for a hostname?
