Indeed that's true - they don't see a reason in replacing someone's knee joints in a 70 year old who won't live much longer... I'm sure the 70 year olds that are rich.. and want their knees replaced (doesn't mean they'd even be able to use them or walk) then they can go to the US and pay..

All I have to say is #1 I love Canada..haven't been there enough in my life.

#2 National Health Care - if it wasn't for an NHS my husband would be dead and if he was alive he wouldn't be able to afford the medical care that helped him to learn to walk again. When a country has national health care people pay more notice to the downfalls because they are investors. Even, if it where infereior care, which may or may not be the case, I would rather everyone get 80% care then none at all. Hubby still has to point out to me when I am sick that I can go to the doctor without worrying about the cost.

Anyway, love the country.

When a country has national health care people pay more notice to the downfalls because they are investors. Even, if it where infereior care, which may or may not be the case, I would rather everyone get 80% care then none at all.
