Anyone have a Mac Mini?

I am considering a mini for portability reasons. The 3 locations I use a computer at have monitors/keyboards etc. I don't like laptops due to bulk size and I do not like the keyboards hence considering the mini.

What do those of you who own one, think of it?

I have one. I use it as my Entertainment center on my big screen. works great.

BUT for true power... get a macbook or a macbook pro.

Ya looking for portability and convenience first. I'm not a fan of laptops really.

My entire office is comprised of Mac minis. Most are the new intel-based versions but a few old ones are Power PC-based. They work fine for everything I need to do (browsing, photoshop, HD movies) but they are not really powerful. Easy to move around though, but I wouldn't be carrying them on a regular basis like a laptop...

My Mac Mini was the best tax return gift for myself I ever got. It never shits out on me and it does leave a lot of space on my desk.

If it's just for regular work, then yeah, go with it. 1.8-20GHZ core2 duo is plenty fast enough. Up the ram to 2GB and it'll be far than enough.

I prefer laptop myself and it's been a while since I had a destop. The 2.4GHZ MBP is fantastic, but my old G4 Powerbook was plenty fast enough. I do sometimes heavy photoshop work, but for the main part, it's just run-of-the-mill photoshop, heavy word processing, coding, and web and I'd be very comfortable doing it on a 2GHz mini.
Not sure though how the Intel GMA 950 graphics card will hold up, esp with 64MB memory... that's pretty low powered.

The MBP with GeForce 8600M/256MB runs the 15" MBP monitor and external 23" cinema display no problem, but I wouldn't feel comfortable plugging it into a mini.

btw, I was gonna get one to run as a disk server and streamer for media, but the new airport extreme with it's net disk capabilities is awesome. No problem to daisychain 3x500GB disks allowing to backup and stream the media straight across the wifi to airport express sockets plugged into hifis - easy as piss and fantastic for the family.
