301 a banned domain to another domain?
Just wondering if doing a 301 redirect of a google banned domain would transfer any google ill-will to the new domain?
say I have a domain extreme-spammer-porn.com (that iscompletely banned and unlisted by google) and 301 it to myreallynicedomain.com.... could this affect myreallynicedomain.com at all?

It won't hurt the new domain and it's a common way to get a second chance...just make sure not to put the stuff that made google ban the first domain on the new one again. Link popularity is transferred, so the backlinks for the old banned domain will start counting for the new one over time...but changing as many links as possible to the new one is still a good idea.
Done this dozens of times and it always worked out nicely. |

and what about transfering the content from a old banned domain with new whitehat content to a new domain, I know I'm in SEO business but i don't had a lot of domains banned, usually play by the rules ;)

thanks for the answers... for the record, I bought the extreme-spam.com domain, it wasn't me that did the spamming that got it banned

Brings the ban to the new one in the form of a sandbox.

hmm, I don't know if that is true.....
but if it is, that would be a great black hat tool to use to quietly knock down your competitor (thus lifting your own sites) 301 redirect a banned domain to your competitors domain would make a market to purchase banned domains to use for this purpose I should test this theory out
